Eyes bigger than belly

Me too, gracesmum. A couple of local Italian restaurants do starter or main size versions of the same dishes, so I can have the same as others, with room for panaccotta or tiramisu.

No, I prefer savoury.

(And then a pudding?) I really need a sweet taste to round off a meal, although sometimes a liqueur coffee will do it.

I sometimes have 2starters, I find that plenty.

I like the option of a starter and a pudding - that way you often get lots of variety - some starters are more exciting than many mains and you can still have a pudding (without total gluttony alert). Result!

At a local restaurant I go to they try to get you to order all your food at the same time.

Most people do order starter and main before they order pudding, don't they?

When I go to a restaurant generally I order a soup and a main course and then decide if I want anything like apple pie.
Often I am full with just the 2 courses.
