Came back from Derbyshire thrilled to bits about my new grandson. DD left for the hospital nervous and expecting to be induced as planned but realised in the car that she was having regular contractions. Within six hours Howard Hugh was born, and within eleven hours she was back home with him to the two waiting grans, GS1 and Aunty Minibags. Grins, hugs and cuddles ensued. smile smile smile. Great-grandfather, who shares one of the names, was quite overcome when I phoned him with the news [sweet].

soop Hope Good Boy No. 1 is doing well in hospital - thinking of him, and that*Good Boy No. 2* appreciates his bowl of chicken - not thinking of him, as I know he is perfectly and utterly spoilt.
Enjoy your lunch with B tomorrow. Lots to chat about.

Love to the lovely Mr.Soop and to the lovely Mrs Soop too. wink

soop Mon 18-Feb-13 17:05:38

Bless you all for your kind messages. I shall pass them on to Mr soop when he phones this evening.

Rory has been hindering helping me to do a few jobs around the house. He knows that he has a chicken supper [don't ask me how] and keeps standing in front of the fridge with a glazed look in his eyes. As it's been so sunny, it has been a treat to be able to leave the back and front doors ajar. He's in his element...traipses through one, wanders along the path, comes in through the other. All good exercise. grin

Weather forecast is good for tomorrow. Inveraray should look at it's best.

Ariadne Mon 18-Feb-13 16:56:53

Best wishes to Mr Soop, flowers

soop Mon 18-Feb-13 14:23:04

I waved farewell to dear Mr soop at the crack of dawn. He's now in hospital, misses me [and Rory] and is "bored".
Rory basking in wall to wall sunshine. The sea is mirror-like and there's very little breeze.
Planning to meet Bags tomorrow [for a Scottish "blether"...]

Hope you have an amazing time in Oz Gally xx
I have had a perm this morning. I hate it but have no choice as my hair is so straight and flat with out one. I also hate the smell for days after, even though she rinses it extremely well. The good part of it is that she is a nice girl, comes to my house and is not too expensive. My DGS has spent the whole morning on the Wii, as a consequence, so need to get out for a walk with him this afternoon.

Gally Mon 18-Feb-13 12:59:58

Ga grin
and flowers and commiserations too

Gally Mon 18-Feb-13 12:46:27

Had my hair cut this morning ready for Oz next week and just happened to look into TKMaax on the way past, which is of course disaster where I am concerned. Exited with a King sized duvet set, a Tshirt in aid aid of Red Nose Day for SIL in Oz, an Emma Bridgwater mug in aid of RND and a large garden wrought iron thingie with a prong on the bottom end and a wiggley thing at the other with a ceramic ball on top - just had to have it; I think it's for training a plant up !confused. I only went in to look at suitcases - duh!

annodomini Mon 18-Feb-13 11:57:53

Another springlike day. I've even managed to put some washing on the line. There's a very frisky flock of long-tailed tits flying from garden to garden. I've seen a lot of them this winter.

glammanana Mon 18-Feb-13 11:17:12

I knew DS2 was calling in yesterday with his lovely fiance (I love saying that word soppy person I am) and we all had a good chat about plans for the wedding then DD arrived with DGS5 and it was a pleasure to see my eldest DC and youngest DC getting down to basic's about plans for the big day they really are grown up's nowsmileThe only fly in the ointment was that DGS5 had been to football and as team goal-keeper just happens to spend a lot of time on the ground in the mud/grass grin so DD had washed the jersey 4 times to try and get the mud stains out to no avail I have soaked it for 1hr in oxy-power and no differance so has anyone any other ideas I need to get it back to normal for Thursday.shock
