Hi folks!

Nelliemoser Sat 09-Mar-13 23:16:10

sook I had a lovely holiday thanks. A good trip with interesting geology! (Well being a geology Geek with a group of other geology geeks I enjoyed it.)
As before the group was good, lots of humour, teasing and banter all taken in very good part so there was much laughter and not always very seeemly. It did me good.

I went to do the "sing Verdi Requiem today." These events are staged for fund raising by different choirs and attract people from other choirs who want to try a particular peice they might not otherwise sing.
The mezzo soprano soloist was brilliant cutting through rampaging trumpets. really exhilarating.
I am not that experienced at sight reading music, but its usually possible to muddle through with good singers either side of me. The buzz from the experience is tremendous. I am ready for bed now though.

And the figure sad

The Dr here ( France) gave DH a diet sheet and the amount of cheese is 30gms a day at lunchtime - never in the evening. The diet sheet has all foods but it is the amount - the meat/ fish portion is half what we normally ate - great for the housekeeping budget! grin

No, because they've moved us out to eastgate house on the Newport road and I don't go near the centre, I think there is one in Wells but these days I mainly shop on line as my mobility is so bad. This shop sound very promising and I love their selection. I've loads of cheese in at the moment, I've been avoiding it as its fattening!confused

Bez Sat 09-Mar-13 22:18:33

I think you are sometimes in CardiffGalen - have you seen the specialist cheese shop in one of the arcades - will check it out next time I am there.

Galen Sat 09-Mar-13 21:20:33

When I've finished all the cheese I have in my fridge I shall order from this firm. They sound excellent for English and continental cheeses with the best selection I've seen outside Harrods!

Bez Sat 09-Mar-13 21:16:21

I am sure you will find it very more- ish - I have to ration OH or he would eat it all in one go!

Galen Sat 09-Mar-13 21:11:17

I've just googled it, sounds gorgeous! There's a Somerset firm that does cheese by post and they have it!

Another of the Brie/Camembert variety - I have only seen it in a box - but it is delicious.

Bags Sat 09-Mar-13 20:22:36

Yes, baked in the box. I've never had Coloumiers.

Bez Sat 09-Mar-13 20:17:41

Bags did you bake the Camembert in its box? I bet Coloumiers would be great too.

Feeling your frustration, Tegan!

Tegan Sat 09-Mar-13 19:58:10

My son dropped by today; swapped all my stuff onto his old computer which is much faster than mind. Ended up having to reset registrations with any forums that I'm on the then found that I have no sound; ie no radio, no iplayer [one of the reasons why I needed to have a new pooter], no utube. Am at the point of throwing the whole lot out of the window. Daren't change back to the old pooter as may lose everything.

bez, it was divine! smile

Also today, I booked Mia into the cattery for when we go on holiday, that`ll add a fair bit to the holiday bill!

Gorki Sat 09-Mar-13 18:09:42

Oh yes,of course.Hadn't thought about that .

It may have got stolen, never sure round here, but it was also pouring with rain at the time, the box, and the chocolates, would have got a bit soggy!

Gorki Sat 09-Mar-13 17:59:10

A pity they can't just leave it on the doorstep.Or would it get stolen in your area?

Had a card from the Royal Mail when I got up this morning, they`d tried to deliver a package at 7.55am, so I had to go to the sorting office to collect it. Lucky I did, it was flowers and chocolates from eldest daughter, for tomorrow.

I don't usually look at this thread but Galen's line hit me when looking at last hout. I had 3 white mice for a fortnight until my Mother found them. I was really upset when she got rid of them sad

Galen Sat 09-Mar-13 16:36:14

I had two white mice when I was young!

nightowl Sat 09-Mar-13 16:03:16

I love mice. A mouse was the first pet that was my very own. I also like rats since DD had two as pets. They are very gentle, intelligent and social creatures. I don't know what I would do if I had an invasion as it would break my heart to have to kill them. I struggle with killing ants.

Bags Sat 09-Mar-13 15:22:39

I think mice are rather nice

Galen Sat 09-Mar-13 15:19:07

Love Verdi's requiem, particularly the Sanctus.
I think mice are nice
Their eyes are bright
Their faces small
They haven't any chins at all!

Can't remember the restconfused

Bez Sat 09-Mar-13 15:16:06

That sounds SOOO lovely Bags
