My idea of hell is ...

Please note this is not posted under the Religion and Sprituality threads - just a lighthearted look at my idea of hell.

Having to wear high heels all day. Having to return to the second form at school to do sewing with the terrifying Miss Royle. Having to eat tripe and onions. Being locked in a small room with HUNTERF expounding on his pet theories. Having a TV that showed only sport.

What's yours?

My worst nightmare would be a plane crash in the middle of an ocean, and still being alive. Also I think the worse one of all would be losing my sight. Horrendous to say the least. I sometimes wish I could turn off my hearing as I live next door to screaming children and barking dogs. It would be bliss to sit in the sun in the garden and enjoy it for hours, that is if we get sun in our so called summers.

Diy stores

Having to deal with rodents, dead or alive;

losing those nearest and dearest - bit of experience on that one recently;

Nightmare of being lost with no money, mobile or transport and no means of
returning to safety

Other nightmare of being in a lift which just keeps going up and up unto oblivion.

Sr. Gabriel who was really horrible to me at school - she may well be 'downstairs' for all her sarcasm and nastiness - and her a nun too shock

Oysters, to which I have a violent allergy, which takes us back to throwing-up!

Definitely exams but especially a maths exam... worst of all, though, the sort of question that begins 'If it takes a man 5 minutes to dig a hole........

Stansgran Fri 01-Mar-13 17:42:19

Losing my sight.

annodomini Fri 01-Mar-13 17:32:17

The exam nightmare crops up regularly. Not always finals - last time it was Higher Greek and there was an Aeschylus play I hadn't read. When I woke up I had to check to see if that play actually existed - it did.

I'm always trying to get to the exam room and keep getting delayed, or lost...

soop Fri 01-Mar-13 17:17:10

A week in Benidorm. An hour back in the convent. A minute when I thought that I had lost Mr soop.

My standard something-not-to-look-forward-to nightmare, Galen. Variation is actually being in the exam hall and turning over paper to find I cannot understand any of it.

Galen Fri 01-Mar-13 16:50:49

Do any of you have nightmares that you're taking your finals again although you're already qualified. But for some reason you've re-enrolled at uni. The exams are tomorrow and you've done no revision?sad

MrsJamJam Fri 01-Mar-13 16:47:46

finding I haven't finished my homework in time, uncomfortable shoes, piped music when I want peace, sport on tv and being trapped with boring people who are full of their own importancee and dont want a real conversation.

Never again feeling the sun on my face.
Not having the freedom of driving

I'm sure there's more.

shysal Fri 01-Mar-13 16:02:55

vegasmags , my ideas of hell are similar to yours, except that the teacher would be Miss Kenworthy in Latin.
Most of all it would be sharing my home again, especially with a man!

Movedalot Fri 01-Mar-13 15:58:33

I still love my high heals!

annodomini Fri 01-Mar-13 15:39:51

Teaching day-release student motor mechanics
Taking my driving test again
Being banned from Gransnet
And I agree about high heels - couldn't cope with them.

HildaW Fri 01-Mar-13 15:35:39

Having a dental check-up. Its the waiting so so long for the 'they are ok'. Actually going to have treatment is not so bad because you do know whats going to happen.

Having to use a less than clean loo! (shudder).

Feeling sick, (I've had a couple of doses of real food poisoning and its made me hyper sensitive to feeling queasy) I just hate that out of control state of having to hurl! Sorry if you are eating at the mo envy

Eloethan Fri 01-Mar-13 15:10:53

In my twenties, sitting in front of my boss taking down, in shorthand, production orders for the factory floor, to be typed up later. Listening to his voice droning on and on. Waiting while he answers (and makes) leisurely and lengthy telephone calls without regard for me sitting there for maybe an hour or more, bored to tears. (I once fell asleep).

glammanana Fri 01-Mar-13 15:10:38

Having to go back to work full-time,I love what I do now and would hate to have a responsible job again.

Movedalot Fri 01-Mar-13 15:05:13

Snakes.

Grannyknot Fri 01-Mar-13 15:05:03

gm it did cross my mind that it's a bit harsh on the huntsman. But, having got to know him a little, I kind of expected him to be able to look after himself. smile

NfkDumpling Fri 01-Mar-13 15:03:57

Being trapped.

Not being able to get away from whatever it is that's bugging me at the time. This can vary according to my mood - loud music can be great if I'm slightly tipsy but hell with a hangover. Crowds at a carnival are great but when they're wandering aimlessly along the street on a Saturday morning when I'm trying to catch a bus which leaves five minutes ago - hell.

gracesmum Fri 01-Mar-13 14:56:16

I think this is totally unfair and bullying - may be a bit of a joke, but if I was the person named I would be out of here like a shot. A joke's a joke, but let's not make it personal.

Ella46 Fri 01-Mar-13 14:53:47

Hell....package holidays in Spain, or anywhere really.

Being trapped with a boring person....wink

Having no biscuits to eat with my brew

Watching football!!!

Grannyknot Fri 01-Mar-13 14:49:44

Nice thread, vegas. Hell for me is (also) wearing high heels all day, and being trapped on a "girlie" outing with women who bray for hours making small talk!

Galen Fri 01-Mar-13 14:11:32

Not being able to go on a cruise.
Locked in with Frank
GN shutting down or joining mumsnet
