Okay, so someone had to start it!
Mine is my current life, not shared with a man. Also sitting in my garden on a warm sunny day. I am very easily pleased!

Open the door. No one home. Oh, the joy of the house to myself (I go into instant sloth mode and make a plate of scrambled eggs - no milk added, scrambled in the pan). Heaven.

Cliched, I am afraid, alone indoors, weather outside horrid, stove burning sitting on sofa with rug over knees.a good book and a good cup of tea

I'm easily pleased too a good book, my laptop, cup of tea and quiet, indoors or outside if the weather is warmer. A good long walk by the sea.

Hard to pin down, but I vividly remember times in my life which came as close to heaven as I could have imagined at the time:
For instance, 36 years on I remember a few days after DD2 was born -( you got 8 days after a C section in those days )- things had stopped hurting, milk was in, baby feeding well, it was a lovely sunny Sunday morning and we were quite high up in the Westminster hospital so you could see the sunlight in the trees (Spring) and DH was going to bring DD1 (whom I hadn't seen since I went in so was really missing her), to visit me in the afternoon. I thought this is about as good as it gets!
I occasionally get that same "at peace with the world" feeling - but usually come back down to earth with a bump sad

gracesmum your post resonated with me; there is nothing like that feeling after a baby is born. For me it was after the birth of DD at home on a sunny Sunday morning in May. DS aged three and a half present and helped to bath and clean the baby thanks to a wonderful midwife and student who felt like part of the family. Later that night as I read a Noddy book to DS in our bed with baby daughter tucked up close beside us I thought I was truly in heaven. I actually have a photograph of that moment - I have to say I look a bit rough but I still get a warm and rosy feeling when I look at it smile

Can't beat a comfy sofa and a good novel.

It's all down to the hormones, nightowl isn't it? [boringly practical] emoticon!

A wonderful candlelit dinner, after a day looking at the fantastic art in Venice with someone special, and my favourite classical music playing in the background.

It is gracesmum, but that doesn't explain the same wonderful feeling when grandchildren arrive! Now that really is special smile

Having all the family in our house at the same time. It is chaotic and absolutely wonderful

Seeing my grandchildren who live a long way away and the little one saying '' I love to see you granny .

When I get the chance, going out to our little sun trap patio when alone, on a hot sunny day.

Firstly collecting my kindle, bottle of water, radio (just in case) then relaxing on comfy chair. Feel the warm sun on my face, smell the roses all around me, listen to the bees buzzing and birds singing, close my eyes. Heaven.

Can't wait - few more months yet.

I'm with you on that!sunshine I've ordered loads of plant, all I need now are a lot of old looking urns and things to put them in and Gary (gardner) to cooperate and plant them.
If I can prise him away from his beloved fruit and veg.
What is it about men that they'd rather grow ugly veg than lovely flowersconfused

sunflowersuffolk You should be a writer, because your explanation of Heaven took me to that sunny place you described so well, it was a lovely calm feeling.

I am going to print it off so that I can it read it when I am stressed, and be transported to that lovely sunny garden smile

Thank you

Thanks Jadey I'm flattered and amazed smile I can picture it so vividly because it's one of my favourite things to do.

Actually I'm trying to pluck up courage to join U3A, and was finding a lot of the interesting classes are on days I still work - 3 days a week. However, creative writing was one, so your comment has encouraged me, thanks.
