My late wife had 2 girls, my 1 daughter has had 2 girls and my other daughter has had 1 girl. There may be another 1 at the end of March.

Not me.. He/She will come when they are good and ready. Like any parent I hope it is born safe and well. What does it matter ????

gracesmum Wed 06-Mar-13 20:44:56

Who cares? maybe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and it is entirely their business. A healthy baby and a healthy Mum are all that matter.

j08 Wed 06-Mar-13 20:47:51

She has probably managed to fool the whole nation. grin

Ana Wed 06-Mar-13 20:48:18

I had to laugh at all the news reports today - "Could Kate be expecting a girl..?" etc. Well, yes, and she could just as likely be expecting a boy! It'll probably be one or the other...

j08 Wed 06-Mar-13 20:48:48

Her mum had a son Frank.

merlotgran Wed 06-Mar-13 20:48:57

What? You mean she's not really pregnant, jingle? shock

merlotgran Wed 06-Mar-13 20:50:19

Frank? Have William and Harry got a brother? confused

j08 Wed 06-Mar-13 20:53:22

No! I didn't mean that? confused

Frank seemed to be making a point of the fact that girls (or boys I guess) can run in families. I was just saying.............. oh never mind. hmm

I had two girls, one has two daughters and one has two sons!

As gender of the baby is all to do with sperm rather than ova & as women carry the babies, boys or girls I am not sure if there is any logic in trying to guess ..its 50:50!

My SiL is eldest of 4 girls..her parents wanted a son... the girls between them produced 7 sons first & then 2 girls. All probability!

merlotgran Wed 06-Mar-13 20:57:36

Sorry, jingle...Just 'avin a larff grin

Ariadne Wed 06-Mar-13 21:28:36

I hope they have a healthy baby whatever the sex, other than that I'm not really interested. As said before it will either be a girl or a boy and I don't see what difference it makes.

Barrow Thu 07-Mar-13 10:07:37

I suppose it is of passing interest to some but as others have said, as long as mother and baby and healthy thats all that counts

gillybob Thu 07-Mar-13 10:37:29

Who even cares that she is having a baby at all. shock

Gorki Thu 07-Mar-13 10:40:30

Seconded Gillybob. Well said!

Elegran Thu 07-Mar-13 11:29:00

Well, I am pleased for her in a general sort of way, but I don't need an hour by hour commentary.

bluebell Thu 07-Mar-13 11:43:13

Oh gillybob - it is assumed we care deeply- it will be all over the front pages, including the Guardian, Dave, Nick, Ed etc will congratulate them on our behalf 'and I speak for the whole nation in their unalloyed joy at this amazing achievement, our day has been brightened beyond belief. The worries of benefit cuts, bedroom taxes, Syria, the West Bank( insert as appropriate) put properly into perspective by this unparalleled event blah blah blah - if only I knew when it would happen do I could escape as I did for the wedding and the jubilee.....

bluebell Thu 07-Mar-13 11:44:14

Have now gone into hiding

Ana Thu 07-Mar-13 11:50:05

Don't worry about it, bluebell, there are plenty of anti-royals on here. They just can't resist letting everyone else know about it...hmm

Last night I dreamed that a massive sink hole, rather like that one in Florida that was recently in the news, opened up beneath Buckingham Palace when the royal sprog was being christened and swallowed the entire royal family. I would point out that I am not responsible for my subconscious but I did wake up smiling.

gillybob Thu 07-Mar-13 13:17:29

Totally agree with you bluebell I makes me so cross. When I look at the royals all is see is extremely privileged people. The press make them out to be some kind of demi-gods whom we should all worship and adore. Why? and for what?

I look around me and I see genuine hardship with families struggling to survive whether it be on low wages or benefits. I see poor schools, hospitals etc. The royals smack of greed and overindulgence that most people could only dream of.

The queen admitted to her private hospital overnight with a tummy bug. Meanwhile in an A & E some poor old soul is lying in a corridor for 5 hours waiting to be accessed.

I don't care whether they have a boy a girl, twins, triplets or whatever but one things for certain like all of the rest they will live a charmed and privileged life with the best of everything laid out on a plate.

Eloethan Thu 07-Mar-13 13:54:15

gillybob Absolutely agree.

j08 Thu 07-Mar-13 13:58:07

Absent you are really dreaming about sink holes? Really?
