Robe for adult baptism

DD1 has decided to be baptised on Easter Sunday (adult total immersion), and has asked me to make her robe/dress. I have never seen one done and am having difficulty finding an image of what is required. I have found a pattern on ebay for a long kaftan style dress, which I would like to adapt, and I hope to use an old heavy cotton sheet. Am I right in thinking it has to be absolutely plain? It will have to be well lined or she will wear something else underneath, as it will be transparent when wet.
If anyone knows the look I am need to aim for, could you please describe it to me. Thanking you in anticipation.

I was baptised in an ordinary dress (in a river!). I've baptised several women and people have worn a variety of clothing; there are usually no rules. If that's what she'd like then a lined kaftan (swimsuit worn underneath) in a lightweight cotton will be fine. In fact as soon as your daughter comes out of the water someone will hand her a towel, so you're really just thinking about how she looks going into the water. All the people I've baptised recently have worn swimsuits and T shirts/shorts. smile I hope you have a wonderful day. I have two (adult male) friends also being baptised on Easter Day, but will miss the service because I shall be away.

Gosh the mind boggles at the possibility of a sort of wet T-shirt contest!!
