What I did today! The next chapter!

One of those days today! I was trying to get packed for my hospital stay, tidy up the house. I did a woollen wash and put stuff out on the line. I was aiming to get out in time for lunch with my knitting group friends.

I then started to clean the E bay high chair DD bought for use here. Not a good idea! If you put a tap on, make sure the plug is out of the sink. Don’t go off and do something else!

So I rushed back into the flood, upstairs to the airing cupboard, got out the “doggy towels” to mop up. I cleared up, whilst paddling about in the room in wet slippers, socks and trouser bottoms. The tap had over flowed across the work surface into the cupboard underneath. This soaked a box of washing powder, which is now in the shed drying out. The box will need re-gluing.
There is moral here somewhere.

During this crisis I was talking on the phone to SIL who rang to wish me well in hospital.

I have now girded up my loins for parathyroid surgery tomorrow.
Due to go in at 8am beds permitting with hopefully just an overnight stay. I have no idea how I will feel afterwards.
Probably come home with a bolt through my neck! grin

Very happily my lovely DD is coming over on Saturday to cook me a meal and administer TLC, her suggestion, knowing that her father is as much use as a chocolate fireguard at such times. Its very useful having a nurse in the family she was so lovely today, and I will see DGS. smile

very cute Galen

We had a funny day with all the grandchildren (10mths to 7 yrs), their parents and my 88 yr old aunt.. egg hunt, brunch of a tasty hash, french toast and fried bananas an bacon, a rice, lamb and cauliflower dish then after an afternoon of play before tea time cakes! They all bundled home at about 5:00 hoping to persuade the kids into bed by seven...first light evening........ hmm

How nice, B smile

We had boiled duck eggs and danish pastries for brunch, followed by a sunny 5 mile walk through banks of celandine, violets and wild garlic. Picked some to make pesto later. We also found the first bunch of Star of Bethlehem - beautiful.

Blew some eggs and washed them out (also ate the contents, scrambled, with some bacon and mushrooms). Minibags is now painting them.

For some reason today feels like two days, I was awaken buy the noise of a mouse scurrying along the floor, we live close to a river canal and just had some workmen in that kept leaving our door open and obviously a mouse has taken advantage of that. I am not too keen on them so first thing was off to the shops to buy some sticky boards to catch the rotter.

Not too good an atmosphere at home today, bad feelings due to a disagreement with our youngest son. DH and I have different opinions of our son being responsible!

Oh well new day tomorrow sad smile
