Kitty my late mother was the same! There was only one couple in the home who she thought might have been roughly on her level, as their child was a doctor. But she didn't speak to them as they were Indian!
What terrible snobs our parents were!

I don't have bath often as it means putting in the bath lift!
I normally have a shower? But a soak is soooooooooooo nice!

A stiff drink perhaps, Kitty? How about a vodka and something, or a wee dram? Put your feet up and let everything go for a while....(flllows own suggestion)

Mum didn't do anything drastic. It just took a carer and I an age to get her dressed and get her to the dining room for lunch. But, when we got her there, she looked like 'lady muck' waving to her subjects and asking after their health. She's never met any of them before Nothing drastic as I said but answering correctly is quite a b****r. For instance telling me 'Kitty hasn't been for ages - I think I'll change my will'. I can't say that she already has and is leaving all her diamond rings to my younger brother's ex-girlfriend and missing out me, two DiLs, 4 DGDs and 2 DGGDs.

I'm here with my vodka. I'm afraid it couldn't have been manflu I had as I think I'm going to live!
Had a lovely relaxing whirlpool bath with bubbles this morning.
Only one problem, I don't think the bubbles are supposed to get knee deep through the entire bathroom!
Are they?

Tell you what - let's keep this room stocked with all the stuff we need to relax and just be daft (perhaps someone could list these essentials) then we can drop in and out if we need to.

There are several big comfy sofas, and soft lighting, and yes, kitty of course we can keep the curtains shut. What has mum done or said now?

I am here with a large glass of Pinot, revising the weekend. Seemed to be an awful lot of rugby....

Please can we keep the curtains drawn for hit longer - I went to see my mum today. Any of that vodka left. The bottle and a long straw will be fine, thank you.

Here I am, back after a nice meal! Brought some wine and nibbles (marinated olives, home made bread and dipping oil) to keep us going, but the point was that it was a place where I was going to lie down and recover, so you don't need to stumble, Merlot, just grab a glass of something and relax. Away from the hurly burly of other, demanding threads. Feet up. I raises a glass to you all.

Was just admiring your photos of your beautiful cats, I have three too - they are getting on now, about 15 and looking a little frail. I love just hearing them purring, very relaxing and soothing. Best wishes x.

Thank you Galen and all others, but I think it's just one of those patches.

Generally I am fairly upbeat, but every so often the big black duvet gets me. I'm also a bit prone to having what I call "Jack Days", they can sneak up on me with no warning. Just have to roll with it.
