Knocked over the jug. Do not cry!

Bags I did try to e-mail Zapf Dingbat (aka Fatty), but I am afraid that cleaning up Mr absent's porridge bowl took feline priority. I am sorry. Cats, these days! He would be keener if it were a bigger milk jug.

Quite right. Bags didn't take offence, but thanks anyway, lullydully smile

janeainsworth Wed 20-Mar-13 18:04:03

No worries grin

LullyDully Wed 20-Mar-13 17:57:42

Ok forgiven. Sorry.{smile}

janeainsworth Wed 20-Mar-13 17:33:12

lullydully did you notice the grin at the end of my post?
It was there for a reason. It was supposed to indicate a touch of humour and a slight irony.
I'm sure bags didn't take offence - if I thought she was going to, I wouldn't have posted my comment.

I think it is rude to correct each other's contributions. We come from all over Britain, we are all different age groups and backgrounds. Just keep the lines open and let's talk however we feel most comfortable.

I use large leaf loose tea because it seems to taste better than what is made with teabags. Less 'scum' too.

I do the same as you F. I get tired of people blaming the iPad is all. I was feeling grotty and grumpy. Went and had a nap so not (quite) so snappish now!!

FlicketyB Wed 20-Mar-13 16:24:33

Don't blame Frank, I always proof read my contributions before I post them and then see all the mistakes I failed to notice when the message is irretrievably posted.

Anybody like me and still use loose tea rather than tea bags? I do this because when I take tea bags out of a mug they remind me of little t....., ugh, the very thought of them turns my stomach.

janeainsworth Wed 20-Mar-13 16:22:17

I agree it's a perfect/past historic issue Bags but the 'just' is irrelevant.
I also think it's not a question of correctness or otherwise, just a question of what is common usage either side of the Pond.
You reminded me of my daughter-in-law grin

Bags Wed 20-Mar-13 15:12:13

I think it's my use of 'just' that's throwing you, jane. I use it too much.

Bags Wed 20-Mar-13 15:04:54

If that's American, I must have been American all my life! Funny I'd never noticed and nor had anyone else. wink

Haven't we got both usages in English English, then? I think of them as the Perfect tense and the past historic, though I don't suppose those are the correct names. Anyway, I'm sure it's allright to say "I just spilt" as well as "I have just spilt". The first is less immediately in the past than the second.

Besides, where on earth did those Americans get it from?

#nevercouldspeakproper

grin

janeainsworth Wed 20-Mar-13 14:17:48

Bags are you turning into an American?
The title of your thread should be 'I have just spilt some milk.'
You'll be telling us you went out the door next grin

harrigran Wed 20-Mar-13 13:39:24

To cry over the spilt milk ?

absent Wed 20-Mar-13 13:30:12

Why did you put your dinner on the floor?

Orca Wed 20-Mar-13 13:19:46

Is it? Must investigate that option.
Don't let the 'ladies' upset you Frank they can't see you're surely only winding them up! wink

Bags Wed 20-Mar-13 13:17:56

Easy to just type the wrong thing or to make mistakes – I just wish people would stop blaming something else.

Ana Wed 20-Mar-13 13:17:49

Anyway Frank uses an Acer laptop - he told us on another thread.

Bags Wed 20-Mar-13 13:14:05

There's no excuse for iPad trouble. It's easy to turn the spellchecker thing off.

j08 Wed 20-Mar-13 13:06:03

I-pad trouble? #befair

Anne58 Wed 20-Mar-13 13:04:59

BOWEL ?????

Ana Wed 20-Mar-13 12:52:56

grin grin
Are you doing it on purpose, Frank?

HUNTERF Wed 20-Mar-13 12:40:14

I just spilt some milk on the floor when I put my dinner on.
Andie my dog licked it up.
He likes an occasional bowel of milk and he does not bother when I tell him cats drink milk.
He also likes an occasional bowel of tea mainly after a walk.
