George Clooney and Kevin Costner were mentioned as nice swaps. It got me thinking.I liked Paul Newman lying on Patricia Neal's bed in "HUD",William Holden lying on Gloria Swanson's couch in "Sunset Boulevard" also William Powell in any Thin man movie.Im a baby boomer that likes the heart throbs of the past I'm afraid! Even Eli Wallach was a nice sight lying in Carroll Baker's crib with the slats down holding his riding crop.in the movie "BabyDoll". Sigh....now I would be happy just listening to Martin Clunes talk. loved that dog Asda!

Paul Newman, Ray Brookes, Philip Lowrie (Dennis Tanner!) & like Joan a crush on Dirk! We were shown a Tale of Two Cities at school!

Just remembered - when I was very young, 14-ish, I was in love with Dirk Bogarde. In hindsight, I guess my virtue would have been safe with him, wouldn't it?

Steve McQueen never had the magic for me - not sure why. He seemed to be a bit of a grump.

Cary Grant, Richard Chamberlain, Fred Astaire (not classically handsome but I loved the way he danced and he had a gentle voice).

No Lully, Matson bagged him much earlier grin

Also we forgot Johnny Depp

annodomini Fri 29-Mar-13 09:05:35

How could I have forgotten Captain Picard?

Joan Fri 29-Mar-13 07:40:00

Michael Caine, Alan Rickman, Patrick Stewart (he comes from the same small W.Yorkshire mill town as me), Richard Roxburgh, and Daniel Craig.

Michael Caine will always be my very favourite. I love the fact he has stayed with his wife for so many decades.

All British or Australian. Not sure why.

Martin Clunes? No Envious surely not?
But maybe you see something there which I am missing.

What I am missing with the American actors is the come hither look.
All I can see is : make sure you have flossed before you even enter the bedroom. And that is putting it mildly.

Deedaa Thu 28-Mar-13 22:16:23

I don't get Daniel Craig at all. He ruined The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for me. Alan Rickman on the other hand .................. grin

Ana Thu 28-Mar-13 22:12:51

Sorry, Envious - Martin Clunes does not do it for me either! grin

Forzanonna Thu 28-Mar-13 21:55:37

Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig and George Clooney.

LullyDully Thu 28-Mar-13 21:51:18

He is no Clint Eastwood surely! { did you ever get Men Behaving Badly?}

Enviousamerican Thu 28-Mar-13 21:38:49

Lully dully, surely someone besides me and his wife find him attractive. any one? Any one willing to admit it?

annodomini Thu 28-Mar-13 21:35:30

Robert Redford and Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Each somehow enhanced the attractiveness of the other.
