George Clooney and Kevin Costner were mentioned as nice swaps. It got me thinking.I liked Paul Newman lying on Patricia Neal's bed in "HUD",William Holden lying on Gloria Swanson's couch in "Sunset Boulevard" also William Powell in any Thin man movie.Im a baby boomer that likes the heart throbs of the past I'm afraid! Even Eli Wallach was a nice sight lying in Carroll Baker's crib with the slats down holding his riding the movie "BabyDoll". I would be happy just listening to Martin Clunes talk. loved that dog Asda!

Even after he was revealed to be gay, I still thought that Rock Hudson was one of the most handsome men in films. Then I got quite fond of Sydney Poitier, nowadays I find Denzil Washington quite fanciable.

I think you might mean Churchill the dog, Envious?

Gregory Peck was my idol. It was that clean-cut look that got me. Liked Gary Cooper too - that shows my vintage, doesn't it?

I like those commercials but I was talking about the dog Asda in the Thin Man movies with William Powell and Myrna Loy.

Enviousamerican Thu 28-Mar-13 18:06:37

I like George Clooney but I am still partial to a bit of home grown talent in the guise of Colin Firth, yep in Pride and Prejudice coming out of the water but also I love how he looks in Bridget Jones, mmm. grin

Enviousamerican Thu 28-Mar-13 18:16:19

Oh yes positivepam! I agree! forgot about Colin Firth,he's no slouch as they say here.

POGS Thu 28-Mar-13 19:17:10

Carry Grant and Little Joe from Bonanza were handsome. I think it's the good lookers with a twinkle in the eye do it and if they make you laugh, well that's it, job done. wink

POGS Thu 28-Mar-13 19:17:50

Cary Grant.

George Clooney any day, and all day. Used to have him as the wallpaper on my desktop.

I find very few American actors attractive.
Yes there are many handsome ones. But that seems to be where it stops.
Full stop. Just handsome then a void.

Give me an English actor any day!!
Richard Burton or Oliver Reed maybe? The list could be endless.
Hugh Laurie? Ralph Fiennes?

George Clooney, Cary Grant, Jeremy Irons. I used to like Mel Gibson but gone off him after some recent revelations - don'.t ask me what they are, I forgot. Yes to Colin Firth but only as Fitzwilliam Darcy.

gracesmum Thu 28-Mar-13 21:12:40

Damian Lewis, Colin Firth, David Tennant, Benedict Cumberbatch, Charles Dance (but ageing, alas, likewise Patrick Stewart) Alan Americans I'm afraid!!!

LullyDully Thu 28-Mar-13 21:16:17

Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, James Stuart from the black and white past.
Young Sean Bean, hasn't aged well.

I thought Richard Burton was Welsh!!!!!!!

Terrance Stamp gorgeous.

LullyDully Thu 28-Mar-13 21:17:25

PS Martin Clunes!!! surely not.

gracesmum Thu 28-Mar-13 21:20:31

Of course Richard Burton was Welsh!

sunseeker Thu 28-Mar-13 21:29:12

Richard Widmark, the young Marlon Brando, Colin Farrell, George Clooney

annodomini Thu 28-Mar-13 21:35:30

Robert Redford and Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Each somehow enhanced the attractiveness of the other.

Enviousamerican Thu 28-Mar-13 21:38:49

Lully dully, surely someone besides me and his wife find him attractive. any one? Any one willing to admit it?
