drew a mini Calvary on every ticket

He should not be defacing tickets in any way whatsoever - he is not employed to impose his religious beliefs on passengers. I suppose people would object strongly if a neo-nazi drew a swastika on their tickets. This is nothing to do with his religious beliefs, it is about respecting others' rights not to be subjected to them against their wishes.

Why?

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 09:25:41

Ha! Knew you lot wouldn't like it!!! grin

It shows Christianity is alive and thriving in the UK today. Yay!!!!! sunshine

Greatnan Sat 30-Mar-13 09:30:25

'You lot' is offensive, jingle. It only shows that one person abused his position.
Why do you post threads just to ferment dissent - not very Christian of you, is it? grin Still, I do enjoy arguing with you - I just wish you would not be so personally offensive.

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 09:32:39

Well, I'm not going to change Greatnan.

Love and peace. smile

j08 It shows that one ticket inspector thought he was doing something clever but says nothing about the the thriving or otherwise of Christianity in the UK. He might equally well have drawn the Easter bunny. It also shows that the ticket inspector should stick to inspecting tickets; he certainly has no future as an artist.

How would you feel if a muslim or a jew drew something on a ticket JO8 more of them attend religious services then christians do on a pro rata basis. You are like HunterF you like to post comments that antagonise people, maybe you think it makes you interesting, are you like this generally or just on this forum?

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 10:37:13

Yep! Me and Frank got a lot in common. grin

#allthetime

Stansgran Sat 30-Mar-13 10:45:39

So you are the same person ! I thought as much.

Greatnan Sat 30-Mar-13 11:10:02

I suppose the sensible thing for all of us to do would be to ignore all posts that were obviously designed simply to cause trouble - but where would be the fun in that?
The sad thing is that we now have some very sensible and articulate Christians on the forum, which allows us to have mature debate, and 'naughty' posters must be as much of an irritation to them as they are to the rest of us but they are too kind to say so!

I never dreamed this thread could possibly offend anyone. I just thought it was rather lovely. (ticket inspector)

I doubt, really, that any Jewish people, Muslims, or anyone else would have bothered to be offended.

sunshine smile

You thought it was lovely. Of course, crucifixion is easily the most beautiful thing in the world.

Mishap Sat 30-Mar-13 12:06:07

That is very scary. Fundamentalism looms.

soop Sat 30-Mar-13 12:11:58

I'm an atheist. I certainly do not feel that jings intention is to make trouble. #justsayin

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 12:52:52

Thanks soop. #meansalot smile

Greatnan Sat 30-Mar-13 13:21:45

'Ha! Knew you lot wouldn't like it!!! grin

I rest my case!

Elegran Sat 30-Mar-13 13:35:22

No need for anyone to be offended. Still a good idea to compare it with the effect of someone drawing symbols of other religions/regimes onallthe tickets.

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 13:42:15

So, you would be offended if a Jewish ticket inspector drew a quick Star of David on your ticket to give a nod to Passover. Blowed if I would be. I would just think, "Oh yes. Passover. That's nice".

Stansgran Sat 30-Mar-13 13:46:34

We used to have a ticket inspector who when warning us that the train terminated in Newcastle said may God bless and keep you all. I never saw anyone other than smiling as they got off the train although some misery guts reported him. I've been blessed by an elephant in India and I don't think it's done me any harm. Other people's good will never harms

Butty Sat 30-Mar-13 13:49:01

I wouldn't be offended. Go well this Easter J sunshine

j08 Sat 30-Mar-13 13:55:53

Thank you Butty. You too. smile sunshine

If as a passenger you had drawn anything on your ticket, you would be deemed to have defaced it. Defaced tickets are not valid. You have been warned!

feetlebaum Sat 30-Mar-13 14:41:13

"Passover - that's nice" Yes - when the god just killed all the gentile babies... ever so nice!

I don't think I have ever noticed what a ticket inspector has scribbled on my ticket. It's not something I take much any interest in. I look at the person's face usually, and smile an acknowledgement.

If I had noticed that scribble, I'm not sure I'd have made the connection. I bet most people didn't notice. You just shove the ticket back in your pocket or bag and carry on looking out of the window, or go back to sleep, or read your book.

I like your comment, feetle. Straight to the point as usual. Zap smile
