glammanana

I will take a look. My old coats are still functional so I can take a couple of weeks to decide if I want.

Since when was the state pension for GCs' savings? Ah, Frank, now that's a wind-up if ever I saw one.

Frank! I'm a very expensive person! grin

I didn't know the state pension was supposed to be used for our grandchildren's savings! Blimey, what are we supposed to live on, then? confused

(I mean those of us who don't have a London pension, of course...hmm)

Sorry Frank, I know I usually support you, but that's just a silly statement!

I was trying to be funny,I read about the MP trying to feed herself on £18 a week.

HUNTERF Thu 04-Apr-13 22:38:59

Andie probably costs £18 per week when you include vet insurance etc.

Galen

I am sure you are living on 56p a week.

HUNTERF Thu 04-Apr-13 22:35:41

Enviousamerican

I spend more than £18 a week on my granddaughters.
I thought the state pension is supposed to be used for your grandchildren's savings.

No! He's living on £56 a week!

Yes,go ahead buy new coats and take a daughter with you to help pick them out and help you overcome the sticker shock! Keep your old ones to wear when walking Andie and puttering around in the garden unless your old coat your talking about is a cashmere top coat. I hope your not trying to feed yourself on £ 18 a week!

I agree that my coats need replacing but I have not been able to get to the right shops this week.
I think Saturday will be my first opportunity to look and it may be Sunday or Monday before I will spend money as I want to look in a few places.
I have also just seen I need some new shorts for aerobics.
One of the women has said Tesco has some suitable shorts reduced in price.

Don't go looking too smart and respectable though, Frank - you don't want any of those women out there getting ideas...grin

No reason ever to lower your standards Frank wink

Flowerofthewest Thu 04-Apr-13 22:13:21

I agree Frank, or get that needle and thread out.

NfkDumpling Thu 04-Apr-13 22:09:45

For goodness sake, get yourself properly turned out and looking respectable. You have standards to maintain!

My daughters have said that I have got to buy myself at least 2 new coats.
I have to admit I did notice they were fraying a bit just before Isabelle arrived and I was going to start looking at the first opportunity.
They are not looking after their inheritance by saying I have got to spend some money.
