Expecting high winds here too.

gillybob Fri 24-May-13 07:40:23

Good morning from a very wet and extremely windy North East coast. It feels more like October going into November than May going into June! Hope it's a better weather wherever you are today. smile

Gorki Fri 24-May-13 07:54:13

Cold, wet and windy here in "The Royal County"!!
Just off to watch grandson's infants' school assembly. They have been studying "minibeasts" and he has to say something about butterflies. Hope he does not forget his lines. smile

Another 'iffy' morning here, rain in the night, central heating still on for a couple of hours, what a summer!

mollie Fri 24-May-13 08:20:30

Good morning from the land of the concrete cows - don't think they'll be too bothered by the awful weather we've got right now. 'They' say this is due to global warming and the UK is in the wrong place so perhaps if we all jump at the same time someone could just shift the country over a bit?

Bez Fri 24-May-13 08:24:19

Good morning everyone - it is bright here in Cardiff but still looks windy. Yesterday it was a really biting wind. This weather is wider than just UK - France has had 21 of the last 24 days wet and the farmers are now worrying about crops maturing and ripening.

Minder Fri 24-May-13 08:37:16

Good Morning from me too. Wet and windy here but it's my day off and I am going to do 'nowt'. Hopefully.

Sook Fri 24-May-13 08:42:07

mollie great idea grin

Grey skies and cold winds in the Cheese County again.

Thistledoo Fri 24-May-13 08:48:31

Good morning all. The SUN is breaking through the cloud here in Inverness-shire, maybe it will chase the snow and freezing winds away.
Off to Portugal tomorrow for two weeks of glorious sun. Cant wait.
Busy day today, looking after DGD. Still have to apply fake tan to my milk bottle legs.grin

Stansgran Fri 24-May-13 08:49:36

Horrible here in Durham. Wet, blowing a gale ,just put the heating on and got back into bed until the house warms up.
Could we arrange a time for The Great Gransnet Jump?

Grandmanorm Fri 24-May-13 08:56:51

Blue skies and high winds, in Perth and Kinross. Sadly the high winds are blowing the blossom off my Victoria plum tree sad.

annodomini Fri 24-May-13 08:59:43

I opened the curtains and went back to bed - all I could see was branches thrashing and lashing. The heating had gone on and it's almost June! Nuff said!

mollie Fri 24-May-13 09:12:05

I'd say sooner the better Stansgran! Trouble is, who will do the pushing and in which direction? Anyone got an idea?

Galen Fri 24-May-13 09:25:41

Not nice here.

Galen Fri 24-May-13 09:27:50

I'll join I the jump? My avoirdupois should make a considerable differenceblush

Gally Fri 24-May-13 09:40:29

Cloudy/sunny/windy/chilly Fife this morning.

Oldgreymare Fri 24-May-13 10:39:56

Clouds scudding across the sky, leaves on the trees being blown back to front, don't want to get out of my warm fluffy DG..... really fed up with the weather in not so sunny Somerset!

Ella46 Fri 24-May-13 10:50:25

OMG! As they say grin I can't believe how cold/windy/wintry it is out there.

Bags Fri 24-May-13 10:54:29

Sunny, scudding clouds, windy, not exactly chilly but not exactly warm either. Normal for here then! It's what my American friend calls a pretty day smile. I've been enjoying watching swifts. Boy, are they fast!

Butty Fri 24-May-13 11:28:27

Started my walk with hat, gloves, scarf and fleece and returned stripped to t-shirt and vest, thanks to the sunshine. Nicely warmed up so straight into the garden. The snails have had a feast of my cucumber plants - all gone!

noodles Fri 24-May-13 11:35:09

Dull and raining here in Reading.

..... AgeUK button has appeared on my Forum screen. I've not seen this before. Is there a tie up with Gransnet now?

GillieB Fri 24-May-13 13:03:49

It's still pretty miserable here in Northumberland - we actually had a sprinkling of snow this morning and the heating is back on again (it's never been off yet in the evenings). DH went to the greengrocers this morning before eight - when he came back he had decided to abandon his Friday cycle ride, so he's been mooching around all morning, getting in the way. May go to see new DGD this afternoon - we were going to go for a walk with the pram, but that's probably off the agenda now.

It has been a lovely morning in the garden. In the shade the temperature is only about 14° but in the sun much warmer. I shifted a pile of well-seasoned small logs into the wood shed for next winter and got quite warm doing it. The breeze has dried the washing too. I like days like this.

j08 Fri 24-May-13 13:30:44

noodles Gransnet does encompass the Age uk forum. But I can't see a button on mine!
