What goes on first?

Having thought a bit more about this, I think for me it's subconsciously a case of 'cover up the rudest bits first', i.e. bum then boobs! It's probably something that was instilled in me from childhood....

Pants, bra, then choose a top and try and match everything else up with that. Resolutely trying to pretend it's nearly summer and not resort to socks, but sometimes they go on later if it's really cold.

I avoid socks unless I'm wearing wellies or heavy shoes - or am at Pilates. It's bra, pants, trousers - or skirt / dress. I like knee highs if I'm being smart but tights with a skirt or dress. In summer at home I might go bare legged with a dress / skirt but not out - my legs have never been my best feature. What a palaver

vegas tried again this morning and no I am not sure, these threads certainly bring out information you would rather keep to yourself.

Socks last. Always. Well, before shoes obv. Whether the knickers or the bra go on first depends on the bra. If it's a pull-on Sloggi, then that goes on first because I step into it and pull it up. If it's an opening bra, then the knickers go on first. Does everyone except me say pants now? (not that I've read all the posts).

I have studied this for a day or two and agree with Ana I think it's a case of covering the "rudest bits first" so it's knickers, bra, then top. Socks left until last (if at all) as I love bare feet.

I haven't really got very nice feet, so perhaps that's why I cover them first, but I think it's more of a ready-for-anything attitude. Perhaps this whole subject is worthy of deeper, academc research - can't be any dafter than some topics

Kittylester, dare one ask how you keep manage to keep your towel round you while you engage in all that strenuous activity before getting dressed?

As for me, glasses are on already, after bathrobe and before face is dry. Then it's pants, socks, shirt, trousers.

It is totally daft and daft is fun! I really like daft threads so there!

always bra first then pants ,top, trousers or skirt.Socks later if it's cold or I'm going out .Like to wear my Fit-flop sandals indoors which I can't wear with socks

Whilst on the subject, well sort of, what do people wear as hospital inpatients? I have always gone for the pyjama option, but with knickers underneath. Not sure why, as I wouldn't wear pants under pyjamas at home. I couldn't stand the vulnerability of a nightie! It's 15 years since I was last in hospital (to have my tonsils out) so what is the current fashion?

When I was having my knees replaced we were all wearing knickers under our nighties. If I'm climbing in and out of bed at home I haven't got several strangers watching me. (Well, not usually anyway)

Knickers first then bra. Then I don't mind if anyone other than DH is around.

I've only been into hosptal fo day surgery recently and have kept knickers handy until the last possible minute.
