First on the list should be Tegan's ferret (it will deal with her rodent problem!)

Hannoona Sorry to hear about that, I can imagine its hard work. Just how you described his behaviour made me think autism. I hope he and you have a calm day.

Hilda that's it, I'm going to buy one. Was at DS3's house a few days ago and he has one so now going out to look for one. Do you think I could get one at the Hop Pocket?

hey Envious , we are in the same time zone , give or take , what thrws us though is when we move into either Eastern, Central or Mountain time .

That can be great fun at times as we are either gaining or losing time , heyho , what would we do with these things to keep us on our toes.

sunshine to all

Enviousamerican Mon 03-Jun-13 16:28:05

HEY,Nonu! I'm in central time zone. At least it's just one to three hours difference. Not like the six hours behind you are in the U.K. How did you first deal with the time change when you came over?

The excavation, demolition, banging, drilling, hammering development work they are doing next door has stopped after two solid days... I live in a Victorian terraced house and it's all been just the other side of our dividing wall. I hope they have finished for the day and it's not just a T-break!!

Grannylin I'm looking forward to wearing a 'retro' costume I bought in a sale recentl. It's one of the 'skirted' variety, a bit like a mini sundress with attached pants! This will be done in the confines of the back garden, I promise! smile

Just come back from acupuncture so happy that I don't have to go for another week!

Nonu Wed 05-Jun-13 15:41:02

Envious. With difficulty , always the first morning of our trips over here I am up at 5 to 6 and depending what time the breakfast room opens , get in there munching.

Of course also we take it easy the first couple of days only do a hundred miles or and of course straight into the nearest Walmart for toiletries , [to save on weight on trip over ]

Cloudless blue skies for two days, so I have been able to walk up the ski slopes - nobody else in sight and total silence. I was rewarded at the summit by wonderful views of the snow capped mountains all round.
Next Tuesday, I will be looking at the very different scenery of the Gulf of Aqaba and the sand hills of Saudi and Jordan, but there will be beautiful scenery once I get my face mask on and start snorkelling on the coral reef.

Today is my last at the laptop 'coalface' for a couple of weeks, as I am going to act as a daily nanny for DGS while DD crams for a final on the 14th.
Mad child to have tackled this while getting to grips with being a new Mum, but I take my hat off to the dedication she has shown to both baby & studies. I really don't know how she achieved the balance (although the new cleaner helped a lot!)

Just very pleased that I get the sheer delight of helping out for a whole 10 days! Do you think I should I pre-arrange a GP appointment to treat strained muscles, exhaustion and repetitive strain injury from rocking grin

Well initially this sounds a reason to be peed off.

However, after getting in the car and noticing a nasty whiff I realised I trodden in dogs mess. Added to which I was going to visit someones house who I hadn't
visited before.

Here js the reason to be cheerful. Firstly I arrived with 30mins to spare which it took to clean up my shoe. Secondly , there was no tissues in my bag or the car but as luck would have it I had some window wipes which came in very useful as I used about a dozen. If they hadn't been in there I would have had to go back home.

My son's girlfriend has just won a brand new car worth £9000. She's only 19 and a treasure - I'm very happy for her.

Elderly cat, who has hardly ventured outside all year followed me out into the herb garden this morning and discovered the flowering cat mint. She was soon rolling around in it in a state of pure bliss.

sunshine - another lovely morning and I have had a phone call from my sister in NZ who was pretty cheerful.

Hip is so painful after yesterday's swimming that I can't do any gardening or housework. Slobbing instead.
