You can keep the smell down by bathing them and some are very friendly Galen

Sel, I had seen the bus coming up the hill, as I was leaving the hospital after visiting. DH and I must have done a 100 yard dash (at least wink !) to reach the bus stop before the bus did. grin

Brought eldest GD to stay this evening. She's tucked up in bed listening to Tom Baker reading from the chronicles of Narnia, she does love a good story.

Marelli That's funny, running for a bus is quite a short distance and I remember you never stood for a bus, you always ran. They've altered the platforms at many stations in London, where running for a train wasn't a big deal, it now is. I've caught many a train hoping to look cool, calm and collected but heaving underneath.

Reason to be cheerful: I kept all my youngest daughter's teddy bear ornaments, got them all out tonight as her niece, and my granddaughter is coming to stay. I look forward to seeing her reaction tomorrow smile So glad I didn't give them to a charity shop.

Ferrets smell and they can bite!

My reason to be cheerful is that I've just worked out that OP means original poster. This was a duh moment, cos its not in the list of acronyms and Other / Opposite/ Omniscient/ Obstinate/Parent/Poster/Person often suited the context. I feel quite clever as well. Life can be quite tough if you've not been broken in by Mumsnet

Has Tegan got a ferret? I love ferrets smile
My reason to be cheerful is that today I ran for a bus and caught it. However, I seemed to run slowly confused....how did that happen? I used to run like the wind, but my effort today really took me aback. I wasn't out of breath afterwards, so I suppose that's something....hmm

England are doing well in the cricket and we have tickets for day one of the ashes test to look forward to.

Such a sweet conversation with DGS (3) on the phone this morning. Loving it whan they can really talk, producing whole sentences. His little bro is working hard at "Woowy" (Woody) and "Buw" (Buzz) smile

The nettle stings on my leg have finally stopped tingling and it's gin o' clock. grin

Yes! Both the soaps on every night this week. grin

And the fact that my grandsons are both having a fine old time at Cubjam2013 and I'm getting to see pictures online!

petallus Mon 27-May-13 18:25:29

I had my first sighting this year of cattle in the field behind my garden. I have not seen the bull yet, I call him Red. He leans against the fence and bats his eyelashes at me before reaching over the inner fence and eating my raspberry canes. I am really fond of him. smile

I'm happy that someone finally listened when I said 'chop down that tree' my SIL and OH cut it down and I've stripped the branches and its all ready to go to the recycling centre... it wasn't that big but it did cut out the sun..

My last case tomorrow has cancelled!

Grannyeggs Mon 27-May-13 16:27:35

I am staying at home on Bank Holiday Monday, the streets around are quiet as everyone seems to be away, I'm not in a traffic jam and my husband is in the garden doing stuff, I can be upstairs sorting summer and winter clothes out without him noticing how m any I've got- I'm very cheerful indeed. grin

Movedalot Mon 27-May-13 16:22:38

I am wearing my fitflops which means my toe doesn't hurt as it does when I wear shoes.

Oldgreymare Mon 27-May-13 16:15:50

First on the list should be Tegan's ferret (it will deal with her rodent problem!)
