Good morning. It's a bit of a grey start here on the North East Coast too. Sun finally got out late afternoon yesterday and I think it looks like it will be the same today. Off to work soon. Hope it's a lovely day wherever you are .

Morning everyone grey skies and a chilly breeze here in Cheshire. I'm baking fig pies for our annual village wakes which takes place on Saturday. We don't eat the pies, we actually roll them down a hill, it's great fun.

It's supposed to be wall to wall sunshine here in Cheshire, but it's dull and quite cool.

In my bit of Northumberland the sun is desperately trying to come out, but in any case it is nicer than it was yesterday (that wouldn't be difficult!).

DGD 1's first birthday at the weekend and 28 family, friends and children going to my DS's house - so definitely hoping for a warm and sunny weekend for him.

It is a perfect summer's day here in London with a gentle breeze to dry my washing on line. I am hoping that it will be a scorcher.
