farmsunday anyone ??

We would have gone to an open farm today if it hadn' t have clashed with the steam engine rally we went to. I think t's a good idea.It's meant to show the public how farms work, how much goes into food production, and generally get the public onside with the farmers. I think you were unlucky with yours ninathenanna. Bit odd, a farm that is always open. For most it's an annual thing.

The café was actually a restaurant with 5 steps up to the entrance with no slope for buggies or wheelchairs that we could see. Isn't that illegal?
Car park was quiet busy but restaurant was vertualy empty.

This particular farm is open all season not just today.

Doesn't sound much like fun, nina. I wonder why the farm was open to the public if it was free?

Did the cafe do a good trade? grin

Several farms had opened up for this. DD and I took DGS x2 to the nearest participating farm 30min drive away.
The web site said:
Pet the animals, alpacas, lambs, donkeys etc.
Tractor trailer rides
Birds of prey
Café
Feed the ducks
What it didn't say was that the site had such steep hills DD couldn't contemplate some areas with the buggy. Including the duck pond which 4 yr old was most excited about. The trailer rides were non existent. And you could only pet the animals if they came to the fence.
Basically a wasted morning and it was flippingfreezing angry One up side, it was free.
