I usually manage to keep up with a thread but admit I'm confused about this one.

Was there really a drunk in the pub HUNTERF or is it a joke linked to the video.

Incidentally I watched the video and the whole time was on edge because I was expecting the car to crash. In fact, at one point I wondered if it was one of those things put out to warn people about the dangers of drinking and driving, you know, happy scene which suddenly and shockingly ends in disaster.

I'm confused. Why did the pub refuse to serve Andie?was he asking for alcoholic liquor although. Under age?

I don't usually take Andie to that pub.
I went to that pub last night for a coffee and spoke to one of the staff about that drunk.
She said they only get about 1 drunk a month on average but sometimes they may go months without trouble and they get a few incidents in a short time.
She said that she could not remember a drunk in the pub so early in the evening before and she had been there 10 years.

HunterF I find you're comments about Glasgow objectionable. You have obviously never been here. I have lived here all my life and it is now a rare occurrence to see anybody drunk whereas I have seen many when I have visited areas of England. Glasgow is a wonderfully vibrant city with world class restaurants, museums, theatres and a fabulous Royal Concert Hall. Maybe you should visit a city before you denigrate it.

Thanks Gracesmum, it really annoys me when someone makes comments like that without any knowledge about the place they are putting down. And I don't just mean Glasgow or Scotland.

I love Glasgow. For a long time I preferred it to Edinburgh but I now rate them about equal. We went there to see all the Mackintosh stuff and it was one of the best short breaks I've ever had .

Don't know Scotland other than Edinburgh/Leith as I have a friend there and visit her. Plan to do a few days in Glasgow and then maybe elsewhere too. See how the weather goes..maybe midsummer by then!

I'm not prejudiced against Glasgow Nanaej. Never been there. Passed nearby. Bet it's lovely in parts.

It is not only Glaswegians who get sentimental about Glasgow, I used to go there a couple of times a year and am still very sentimental about it. the place, the culture, the people, all wonderful and, imo, much better than Edinburgh.

On most occasions I have coffee or tea.
A member of staff was surprised when I asked for a pint of larger a few weeks ago.
He thought I did not drink alcohol.

Glasgow's image has changed beyond recognition in my lifetime. As in all cities, the air used to be full of soot and the buildings correspondingly grimy. Nowadays, the sandblasted buildings are pristine and you can breathe the air without fear of choking. There's always been a lively cultural scene and now all the more so with theatres and music, clubs and so on. My younger son did his degree there and from what I could learn, spent a great deal of time (and money) finding out about Glasgow's culture and both of my nephews are part of the music scene there.

I'm confused............. who's Andie.
