He will be missed by many and may he now rest in peace. Mr Smith has left a great legacy and has entertained millions of us.

Not the Nine o'Clock News was once the highlight of our week as, subsequently, was Alas, Smith and Jones. So sad to hear of Mel Smith's death. He made an outstanding mark on British comedy.
