Are we going to get minute by minute updates today. Kate is in labour and there will be no news for perhaps hours give the girl some privacy. Every few minutes we are getting updates saying nothing. It's going to be a long day!

Glad they showed the baby off to the world. Wise choice but brave as well. Otherwise Wills would have had to helicopter them out of there I guess. All credit to Kate for showing the world what a 1 day postpartum belly looks like. I don't think that has been done before. She obviously had a very easy delivery by the way she was moving and looking. And the baby too - not a squashed one.
I hope now the world will allow her to spend time with her immediate family now without being mobbed.

Witchell is creepy! Did you know that many years ago he wrote a book about the Loch Ness Monster? I think he still believes in in.

Ana Tue 23-Jul-13 19:44:58

Prince Charles can't stand him either, apparently! grin

merlotgran Tue 23-Jul-13 19:35:12

Nicholas Witchell is starting to sound like the Archbishop of Canterbury. hmm

It was quite funny yesterday.I go walking with a large group (60) , and our leader announced at the start that he would look on his phone for information on the Royal birth and convey it to us at intervals.
After about 20 minutes walking, he called a halt, and we gathered round, expectantly.
"The Duke of Edinburgh Has visited Kate in the hospital, and given her a present. After a "pregnant" , ha, ha, pause, he said.

All of Cornwall!".....!

Then later on he drew us to another halt.
We gathered round again.

"Nicholas Witchell is just about to have his lunch.Sandwiches, and a banana!"
At the end of the walk,2 and a half hours; we never did discover anything.Of course, the baby didnt arrive until late afternoon.

Must say that the 'no news news' is getting a bit boring now sad.

Notso Tue 23-Jul-13 07:05:50

Very naff....but clever marketing. No Daily Male then? grin

annodomini Mon 22-Jul-13 22:49:17

OMG. That is so very naff. But no worse than I'd expect!

j08 Mon 22-Jul-13 22:46:50

front page of The Sun tomorrow hmm grin

harrigran Mon 22-Jul-13 22:46:03

True, my sister and her German friends love to know about our royal family. DD's Belgian friends prefer our royals because they say the Belgian royal family are stuffy and boring hmm

merlotgran Mon 22-Jul-13 22:41:39

And so they should grin crown

Deedaa Mon 22-Jul-13 22:38:59

DH was a bit taken aback to get an email from an acquaintance in the US congratulating him on the birth only seconds after we had heard the news here. People who don't have a monarchy always seem to get very excited by ours.

Galen Mon 22-Jul-13 22:37:55

grin

harrigran Mon 22-Jul-13 22:37:46

Took their time making the announcement, wish them well wine

j08 Mon 22-Jul-13 22:33:24

shock How embarrassing. And what a shame!

merlotgran Mon 22-Jul-13 22:32:12

So Funny......I've just seen on the news that they can't ring the bells at Bucklebury tomorrow because one of the bellringers is on holiday. What was that I said about Dad's Army? grin crown

j08 Mon 22-Jul-13 22:09:37

I hope they've got rid of that town cryer (crier?) outside the hospital. That was sonaff.

Galen Mon 22-Jul-13 22:04:42

Almost certainly I'd think grin

merlotgran Mon 22-Jul-13 21:49:53

Maybe the bellringers are all up the pub! grin wine

merlotgran Mon 22-Jul-13 21:48:58

jingle, earlier on they said they were going to ring the church bells at Bucklbury when the birth was announced. They're now saying they're going to do it tomorrow confused Sounds a bit Dad's Army.

Galen Mon 22-Jul-13 21:43:54

One of my fellow GPs said the Russians were sending up a satellite to photo my dark side!
I was rather hurt. A man of course!

Ana Mon 22-Jul-13 21:40:13

Same here, glamma - someone said I looked like a galleon in full sail walking down the street and DD was only 7lb 3oz when born!

j08 Mon 22-Jul-13 21:32:23

BBC coverage getting funny now. What's happening in Bucklebury?! Answer, sod all. Not a soul in sight. grin

petallus Mon 22-Jul-13 21:24:47

That's good.
