Broomsticks, chariots, flying cars at the ready ladies!
We haven't had a 'virtual' party for ages!
I'm suffering from vodka jelly and wacky baccky withdrawal!
Suggestion:- top of Snowdon on Friday or Saturday evening!
Gentlemen and cat/dogs very welcome.
Dress, welsh of course!
Any other ideas?

Galen Thu 01-Aug-13 22:06:57

Fine by me! Any one got any problems with that?
It's been ages since we had one of these, so can we pull out all the stops?

I'm looking forward to it!

celticrose asked about dress code on another thread. I said ' optional, but if cold you may want some.'

I'm wearing traditional costume! Sheepskin!

Oh dear ............Iv'e just noticed the time of the party. 7.30 Saturday in Snowden will be 2.30 am Sunday here in Beijing and gorgeous GS allowing I shall be fast asleep. Better count me out for this one but I hope you all have a great time and hope to be at the next one. Back to lovely Yorkshire in 10 days.

glammanana Fri 02-Aug-13 09:57:08

I've booked my top of the range 4 x 4 broomstick in for a quik MOT as it's been a while since it was used, the last time I was out I arrived in the middle of the M53 surrounded by Police car's if you remember I took the wrong turning after the Liverbirds hmm so better be safe than sorry,if anyone needs a lift I have space on the back for two grin oh and I've now bought a shiny bell so people know I am on my way.Saturday 7.30 great for me see you all soon.

whenim64 Fri 02-Aug-13 10:04:12

You've missed out the bit about a man in uniform, glamma. Wasn't there a little diversion when you landed in the wrong place? Not for me to point the finger - anno poured me into the tardis on the way there! grin

vegasmags Fri 02-Aug-13 12:53:21

Great news! I've passed the Magic Carpet Flying Test! It was touch and go at times, especially on landing but there we are I am now fully certified, if you know what I mean. So when anno and anyone else in the vicinity, prepare to climb aboard. My carpet is a really great one, registration &*%$)), and has had only 482 previous owners. There's just a little threadbare bit in the middle, so probably better to sit round the edges. I had a go at darning it, but domestic arts were never my strong point. Snowden here we come grin

Galen Fri 02-Aug-13 12:56:58

flowers congratulations.
I've just taken delivery of my 4poster. I'm finding it a little difficult to reverse as the back of the curtains obscure my rear view.
I would therefore advise people not to stand behind me when I'm taking off and landing.

LizG Sat 03-Aug-13 09:59:41

Panic. Left my broomstick in the shed and the mice got it. I wondered why we had a sudden glut of bats. Where on earth can I get a broomstick at this late stage? All the hardware stores have closed and Tescos don't stock them.

whenim64 Sat 03-Aug-13 10:06:15

Gaffer tape, Liz! That should hold it together till you get there, then maybe someone will give you a lift back. smile

Are there any nominated drivers tonight? Oh, I like the way everyone suddenly disappears when alcohol control is mentioned. wine grin

LizG Sat 03-Aug-13 10:28:33

Brilliant whenim, my daughter is bound to have some. It will be my excuse for driving erratically.

Ariadne Sat 03-Aug-13 11:11:52

I shall arrive by helicopter, courtesy of the Royal Marines. (They don't know I've borrowed it, by the way) I'm assuming it has a built in SatNav? I mean, if you can drive a car you can drive a helicopter, can't you??

I have dug out the fairy lights to twine round the rotors, so you'll see me coming - bit like Galen on her C...... Cruise?

whenim64 Sat 03-Aug-13 11:13:11

vegas congrats on passing your test. I am going to wait outside my house and will wave my torch when I see you hovering overhead. Ignore the neighbour with the double-barrelled shotgun. He knows very well that he is not allowed to blast anything out of the sky for at least another week, even if he is only practising for the pheasant shoot! grin

whenim64 Sat 03-Aug-13 11:14:36

I'm starting to get the giggles....grin

Galen Sat 03-Aug-13 11:17:36

Helicopter? Oo-er, get 'er! Er'll be expecting the band of the Royal Marines to greet 'er an all!shock

whenim64 Sat 03-Aug-13 11:21:01

She might get someone with a tin whistle with a bit of luck!

vegasmags Sat 03-Aug-13 11:31:04

OK when I'll look out for the waving torch. Fortunately, the carpet has an auto pilot mode for use when inebriated, so no need for that designated driver lark.

CelticRose Sat 03-Aug-13 11:50:01

Starting to get the "handle" now on a VP. As it appears to be up/on a mountain, have two Nimbus 2000 - one tied either side of a Range Rover. I shall have all-round vision, comfortable seat, lighting, heating and satnav, plus I won't have to do my hair like Lady Pauline so that it stays in place in high winds.. (Not sure how to co-ordinate broomsticks with driving vehicle, but will work it out as I go along). Is there a petrol station nearby? You can't miss me. The vehicle is shocking pink and glows in the dark - bit like me after Tequila shot the other night. Isn't it just typical. You go for years without going out and then, like the No 3 bus, all the parties turn up at once. Just going " ite " to brunch. Laters.

sunseeker Sat 03-Aug-13 12:20:25

So are we all meeting at the bottom and making our way to the top together? I'm not good with heights so may need someone to hold my hand.

Galen Sat 03-Aug-13 13:51:21

There's room on my 4poster. It's like the great bed of Ware. Sleeps 20!
I'm landing on the top. If it rains we can all get into it and the canopy and curtains will keep us all warm and dry.
Someone will have to stay outside to tend the BBQ though!

Galen Sat 03-Aug-13 13:54:53

celtic did that sort of thing once with my boat when engine packed in and no wind. 1x 80hp boat on either side with our yacht in the middle. Zoomed up the Alderney race at slack water!

dustyangel Sat 03-Aug-13 16:57:33

I can't come to the party so I'm sending you a case of port. The broomstick will be in use so I've put it on the flap down dust pan. It's a continental long handled model so quite fast. Should arrive safely, I've cushioned it with a box of custard tarts.
There are 6 bottles in the case, are there more than 6 of you going?
I'll catch up with you tomorrow. Have fun.

whenim64 Sat 03-Aug-13 16:59:30

Thanks, dustyangel. (innocent face) shall I look after the port? grin

Galen Sat 03-Aug-13 17:09:11

NO! I will.

LizG Sat 03-Aug-13 17:11:50

Had a bit of a row with the OH so not sure if I can sneak out without any questions being asked. If I am not able to get along (will try transporting and he may not notice) have a brilliant time and have one (or 61) on me wine

dustyangel Sat 03-Aug-13 17:12:39

grin

Nonu Sat 03-Aug-13 17:13:19

I can"t either , having prawns ! so I will send a dozen bottles of champagne , I know you all like it !!

smile
