Glad the party's on Saturday because I take my magic carpet driving test on Friday. Fingers crossed that I pass, otherwise I'll have to hitch a lift on a broomstick.

All this talk of broomsticks has resulted in the loudest clap of thunder here in Beijing I have ever heard. I hardly needed a broomstick to fly. But on a more serious note ......... does anyone know if a broomstick can travel from Beijing to Snowden and if so how long is the flight? I really would like to come and meet you all but a tad worried about the journey. Not too sure about bringing the local wine either.

Surely there is a man in the street selling brass lamps Tiggy. Buy one and a bit of elbow grease and Brasso and you'll be there as fast as the magic carpet.

Don't worry Tiggy just programme in "Snowden North Wales" and your Sat-Nav will find us,it will only take you virtually a second to get there and there are no checks on your luggage so you can strap a crate of saki on the back of your broomstick,just make sure you use a padded cushion in case you have a bumpy landing.

I am not too hot on heights but will take Kalms before leaving. Would prefer Saturday because OH and self are off to Solihull to collect his new car on Friday. Mind you, my formal black edged invitation has not yet been received

Thanks for the advice Stansgran and Glammanana - two excellent ideas I just hadn't thought of ! Just a bit worried about the Sat-Nav though. I used to teach ''Technology" but know !!*! all about it and try to avoid at all costs but if it means a party I shall do my best.

Oh Dear Glammanana - just been told that Saki is Japanese and it will add eons to my journey. Will bring a crate of Baijiu instead but will accept no responsibility for the consequences.

Has anyone notified air traffic control about all these broomsticks and magic carpets? What time is the party starting - don't want to be late.
