By the way, have added my favourite pic of the seven grandchildren - ages range from three and a half to twenty four. Our pride and joy.

I'm just popping in to leave a bottle of chilled Champagne. Tomorrow, we're having our local pals in for a chatty gathering. When we raise our glasses, I shall include you lot. Why? Just because you're special.

Next week the serious business of stripping the wallpaper off the sitting room walls begins in earnest. We'll be in a right pickle for a while, but I'm certain that the end result will be pleasing. Our wee hoos deserves a face-lift. Rory is bound to feel a little perturbed. Although he does know the friend who will be doing the job.

The weather is improving. Mr and Mrs Marelli will be happy to see the back of the rain. The Rest and Be Thankful was closed yet again yesterday, due to an enormous landslide. I believe that it has since reopened. Hope so for Marelli's sake. The diversion is a good 60 miles of extra travel.

I'm about to print some photos for the family. I start off thinking...it won't take too long. Bet I'm still doing the job at lunchtime.

The weather is behaving nicely for Mr and Mrs Marelli. Last evening I took a photo of the lovely sunset over Gigha [which is where they are.] The sunset will be added to my album in 10 mins, give or take.

Nice big mug of coffee to enjoy. Rory is snoozing. He appears to be dreaming. A bit of tail-twitching going on. Nothing too dramatic.

Mr soop and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow. It will also be our granddaughter's 21st birthday. We'll be having a gathering of friends in on Saturday for a Champagne buffet.

Rather than give each other gifts that we've no need of, we're treating our wee hoos to a face-lift: decorating the sitting room and replacing the bulky sofa with something more streamlined with removable linen covers. Also adding tartan [Harris Tweed cushions]. It's all very exciting. I shall show you the new look when it's finished.
