Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

So glad you're staying. I always enjoy your lovely kind and sensible posts. You post a lot of common sense. Please tell us what happened to you. flowers

Thank goodness, Soop! I don't do FB and would have been forever wondering about Rory and the rest of you! smile

The power of collective action!

Lets all have a brew together smile

Ella46 Fri 23-Aug-13 11:48:22

This is a wonderful idea soop, I'm so glad you've done it.

Can we sit round the Aga on cold mornings and warm our toes?

I assume the kettle will always be on until the sun sets over the yardarm?
grin

Exactly jingle .

So glad you are staying soop you would have been greatly missed! smile

wisewoman Fri 23-Aug-13 11:51:20

Hurrah. A cosy, warm and accepting place to chat is always welcome.

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 11:52:06

Yes indeed...I'm as daft as jings suggests but that's as maybe. Truth of the matter is, I'm far too fond of you lot smile

Rory is chillin'. He has a plug-in pheromone gadget to help him with his stress levels. The unfortunate incident in the forest [with whatever it was that attacked him] has left him with mental scars. Every so often, he goes into a "flat spin" and finishes up staring wide-eyed into space.

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 11:54:29

The coffee is fresh. The shortbread is Scottish. The kitchen is warm. All comers can kick of their shoes and relax. No need for chat. It's your presence that counts.

Nonu Fri 23-Aug-13 11:56:18

How exciting this is , can I be the first to have a brew ?
x

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 12:02:46

Nonu the pot refills itself. Stay as long as you like. Relax and enjoy the company of some special people.

I've the washing machine to empty. Be back later, and that's a promise. flowers

Ana Fri 23-Aug-13 12:03:57

Poor Rory! It sounds like Post Traumatic Stress....sad

Marelli Fri 23-Aug-13 12:12:13

Shove along, you lot - make room for a little one (not)! Good to see you're still here, soop smile

Nonu Fri 23-Aug-13 12:13:09

Dear Soop !

MiceElf Fri 23-Aug-13 12:13:31

Phew, that's a relief. I was thinking that there wasn't a lot of point continuing here without Rory and his mistress / slave.

petallus Fri 23-Aug-13 12:25:33

Oh good! grin

grannyactivist Fri 23-Aug-13 12:26:23

Just read your 'fond farewell' thread and then straight on to this one. I must say that I am very, very glad you decided to stay. [sigh of relief]

Nelliemoser Fri 23-Aug-13 12:49:00

Oh Soop A big beaming smile

Nelliemoser Fri 23-Aug-13 12:51:21

What is in the pheromone stuff? Does it only work for cats?

gracesmum Fri 23-Aug-13 13:02:02

Good news - sane voices are all too rare these days.
Re pheromones - I imagine Scottish shortbread and a cuppa would have about the same effect.

Gagagran Fri 23-Aug-13 13:05:44

SO pleased you've had a change of heart soop - I felt very sad when I read your farewell post. smile

Can you reassure us that Bags has not gone for good? I know that you are good friends. I rely on Bags for sensible and logical posts and would really miss her if she has gone.

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 13:27:13

So....here I am again. Just checking that everyone is comfortable. I must have been off my head to consider leaving you lot. When I told Mr soop that I intended doing so, his mouth dropped and he asked me "are you unwell...?"

I wish to stress that no one caused me to be offended. There was no "falling out"...in fact, I've oodles of respect for GN. I've shared many ups and downs with members who have helped me enormously. Maybe I was beginning to feel that I had nothing to contribute. I'm not a clever clogs and neither do I seek out confrontation. At heart, I'm a soppy so and so. Perhaps I'm best suited to the relaxed approach. That's why I've opened the kitchen.

Nellie ...pheromones are apparently useful when a cat is stressed. I shall hunt for the blurb, so that I can tell you more. wink

Bez Fri 23-Aug-13 13:44:32

Just came on a few minutes ago - this sounds a nice warm comfortable place - will be good on those cold winter days too. Great idea Soop long may it remain open and well stocked!! brew

janeainsworth Fri 23-Aug-13 13:53:58

Well I'm hungry Soop on the way back from Edinburgh and no lunch yet. Have you got any Cullen Skink on the go please?
And tell that Bags to get herself down here sunshine
