Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

annodomini Fri 23-Aug-13 13:57:23

I've brought you some home-made scones and raspberry jam to celebrate. x x

Gally Fri 23-Aug-13 14:04:10

Well, I'm glad that's sorted out! I was beginning to feel a bit the same Soop but was too lazy to do anything about it! Happy to step intae yer kitchen for a week blether and a warm up - need it today here in Fife, or perhaps I should just face the inevitable and put on more clothes. As Jane says, get that Bags back into the fold too wink

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 14:05:53

jane I first tasted Cullen Skink in a very pleasant garden centre restaurant. It was HEARTY and left no room for the main course or, indeed, a pud. shock I shall tell Bags that we want her company.
Bez keep an eye on things for me please. I really should be doing things about the hoos. Rory appears to be zonked. Cannot ask him to help with washing the dishes. wink

soop Fri 23-Aug-13 14:08:35

anno did you mention home-made scones and raspberry jam? Well, if you insist...maybe one or two to boost my energy levels. [smile

j08 Fri 23-Aug-13 14:17:46

I sooo like the sound of soop's klitchen. Has it got a rocking chair, and an aga with the door open on cold mornings? And a rag rug made by Bags?

Actually a nice Victoria sponge would be good soop. Ta. smile

annodomini Fri 23-Aug-13 14:26:29

I do insist, soop. Even my late MiL said my scones were good, although my mum was rather more grudging!

Nelliemoser Fri 23-Aug-13 14:41:00

Who can make scotch pancakes? Hey! This is not fair I am on a 500calorie day today. I can't stay in a kitchen.

thatbags Fri 23-Aug-13 14:43:07

Here's your rag rug, soop, me ole pal. And some baggyflapjack.

Elegran Fri 23-Aug-13 14:46:39

It is OK Nellie these are virtual calories. You can eat as many as you want without putting on an ounce.

Whereas I have just finished off the remains of a real ginger biscuit and crushed pineapple trifle and will be putting on some real ounces.

I don't think I could face one of those scones and jam right now. Could you keep one for me?

It is very cosy in here. Good idea, Soop. Much better than buzzing off.

Elegran Fri 23-Aug-13 14:47:14

How did you sneak in here while I was typing?

Marelli Fri 23-Aug-13 14:48:10

I'm really glad she's still here! smile

Elegran Fri 23-Aug-13 14:50:07

Thatbags had everyone worried.

Gally Fri 23-Aug-13 15:00:00

Full compliment then! [hurray emoticon]

Bez Fri 23-Aug-13 15:04:24

Just about to make pastry - people coming tonight and Bramley apples just coming off the tree - shall I make an extra one for here? - with or without cinnamon ?? Also got an apricot crumble to do but have the apricots cut and in the dish - think I may jus splash a tad of amaretto in there. Keep kettle boiling please.

Faye Fri 23-Aug-13 15:07:11

A change of name baggy, you can't slip in and not be noticed. smile

soop the kitchen looks very cosy, a cup of tea and cake would be lovely. Just put it there thanks. grin

I have also come over to take summer back, you lot have had it long enough and it's time to return it, where it belongs. sunshine

whenim64 Fri 23-Aug-13 15:10:48

Right then soop close your ears! I've returned the tickets for a fortnight's holiday in the Bahamas, now soop isn't going and everyone has been virtually reimbursed for the farewell whip round! grin

soop so glad you're staying. It wouldn't be the same without you flowers

j08 Fri 23-Aug-13 15:10:53

This thread is gonna make me fat!!! [salivates at thought of apricot crumble]

Galen Fri 23-Aug-13 15:10:56

I thought pheromones were emitted by female moths to attract male moths. They're attraction like chemicals.
I'm sure Bags will know?
Where is that woman when you want her?

whenim64 Fri 23-Aug-13 15:12:04

thatbags good to see you! sunshine

j08 Fri 23-Aug-13 15:12:54

Good name that that. smile

moomin Fri 23-Aug-13 15:13:36

A lovely, warm and homely place on GN - that's just what we need! So pleased soop you have invited us in. Just logged on and unfortunately already had my brew and cupcake so no room for more, I'll just sit back and enjoy civilised company wink

dustyangel Fri 23-Aug-13 15:17:48

So pleased that you're staying soop and I've often thought that at any gathering you meet the nicest people in the kitchen.

Movedalot Fri 23-Aug-13 15:18:25

Non-fattening scones and flapjack, I'm on my way. Don't want to sound greedy but will there be wine later? May I bring my knitting? It is something I do when I'm relaxed.

mrshat Fri 23-Aug-13 15:18:48

Looks as though your kitchen is filling up soop - does it expand to accommodate folk as they arrive? Delighted you are still with us and look forward to enjoying [tea] and scones and of course good company sunshine

Elegran Fri 23-Aug-13 15:19:57

Well done that Bags, have a chocolate medal.

Gally I hope the pheromones don't attract moths to Rory. He needs that warm coat for the coming winter.
