Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

soop wine cheers! Love the little bird and the table lamp!

ffinnochio Thu 17-Oct-13 19:02:20

Flapjacks sound good. smile

No surprises with Minibag's birthday treat. Nothing like a bit of WOW for a teenager. wink.

thatbags Thu 17-Oct-13 17:54:35

I'll try and get a new batch of flapjack made tomorrow, soop. It was planned for today but tiredness overtook me and I had a nap instead.

Could do date slices if you prefer?

That's if tiredness doesn't overtake me again after the morning adventure that is planned: Minibags birthday request is to have her hair purple dip dyed coloured (see, janea, I do listen wink). The appointment is tomorrow.

Dip coloured sounds wrong. Dip dyed sounds right. #rebel

Love your bird Soop, you got a bargain there.

soop Thu 17-Oct-13 17:02:16

Afore you go, bags be sure to leave a comely supply of your excellent flapjacks. grin

soop Thu 17-Oct-13 17:00:53

Mr soop has asked me - have you seen my specs? I shook my head. He then removed them from my face. No wonder the screen has been looking a bit tipsy. Off to find my own specs. All a bit of a blur at the mo'. grin

Thanks for looking, anno it's what I call "arty" . It sits very nicely between two carved owls.

soop Thu 17-Oct-13 16:56:00

Lona dear, you must be exhausted. I thought that I had been busy, but having read your list of daily tasks, I'm beginning to think otherwise. Here, I shall plump the cushion and you may relax in my favourite chair. cupcake brew

The sun is shining brightly. The raindrops sparkle on the foliage. Everything looks refreshed.

Mr soop has emerged from the loft. When I asked what he had been doing, he replied..."shifting stuff" hmm There's a surprise. wink

annodomini Thu 17-Oct-13 16:38:56

I've just seen your little bird, soop and can see why you love it. I would love it too. smile

soop Thu 17-Oct-13 16:34:14

Lovely cup of tea for me please, bags Any flapjacks by any chance? wink. Cupboard tidying is very therapeutic. Somewhere on my list of to-do's. It has been raining here and the sky is beginning to clear.
I reek of turps. Been painting yet again and beginning to see a real improvement. Mr soop banging and clattering away in yonder loft. I sometimes think that he moves all the clutter from one end...waits a few days...moves it all back again. Thing is, not much ever emerges to be put in the skip that he keeps promising to organise. grin As long as he's happy. sunshine
Rory has barely budged since breakfast time. How on earth can cats sleep for so long and, apart from the occasional yawn and stretch, do very little else? It's a mystery, so it is.

Lona Thu 17-Oct-13 16:33:44

Sorry bags

Lona Thu 17-Oct-13 16:32:44

Yes please [bags], I'm shattered! Been flat clearing with my cousin all morning, then an hour tidying at ds's house. Followed by some quick gardening and a mop of the kitchen floor!

My kitchen cupboard, housing the ch boiler, was visited overnight by a rat, (yuk) so the council will be coming out in due course!!!

Is there any cake please?

thatbags Thu 17-Oct-13 14:25:38

Rain here today so I decided to sort out a cupboard that has been needing done for a while as I can't remember what's in it... well, not everything. I'm astonished at how much I managed to get in there and impressed with my cupboard packing skills, but a good deal of it needs to GO.

Cup of tea time. Anyone else want a cup? If so I'll make a pot.

soop Thu 17-Oct-13 11:47:36

Well, well, well, haven't you lot been busy G's. I doff my bonnet to one and all. I'm really enjoying reading about who's doing what and when. Sending big enjoy-yourself hugs.

I had a very busy yesterday afternoon and have smartened up the bathroom and utility room by painting the skirting boards and architraves and the outside kitchen door [which was ever so slightly mucky] thanks to dear Rory wink. I started off without as much a tiny splatter. However, by the end of the afternoon, I needed plenty of kitchen towel and turps. J was suitably impressed!

I've taken a photo of the bird that I purchased on ebay. I had forgotten that there was a delivery charge on the item [sometimes free delivery, as some of you will know]. However, it cost less than £9 in total, and I like it a lot. It appears to be coated in a metallic substance. It's not heavy enough to be iron, though. I like it's simplicity. Photo in album soonish.

There has been a very serious accident between the ferry terminal and Tarbert. A mini bus and car. We understand that the ferries have been halted and the main road is impassable.

I may return a little later. So many delicious goodies to sample. grin

Now that the nights are fair drawing in, I made a mahoosive pot of ham broth today. Please help yourselves ladies. Also plenty crusty bread (pain au levin).

This was my granny's recipe with chunks of ham hough through the broth.

annodomini Wed 16-Oct-13 18:13:58

I cannot be trusted to surf Ebay late at night because that's the time I am most apt to make rash bids. Having said that, I have a fine stock of good handbags bought on line. I have also sold a number of items and failed to sell even more!

kittylester Wed 16-Oct-13 17:30:25

I had a serious eBay habit for a while both buying and selling - I have started looking again- dangerous!

ffinnochio Wed 16-Oct-13 17:20:30

Went picking sweet chestnuts yesterday afternoon, so here's a bowl full freshly roasted to dig into.
......and I know you won't mind again soop, but I've laid out newspaper by the fire to spread out and dry my damp walnuts I picked in the garden today.

Nelliemoser Wed 16-Oct-13 17:17:07

I have bought stuff on Ebay. It's trying to sell stuff that I am wimping about!

kittylester Wed 16-Oct-13 17:08:27

For goodness sake, Liz sit down for a minute and have a brew

LizG Wed 16-Oct-13 16:38:53

Oh well done soop ebay frightens the life out of me. The delicious goodies you have all brought sound really tempting.

I am having a busy time right now: school runs for daughter with broken foot; producing flyer for daughter who is opening a shop at the weekend and child minding this evening. Came off the W.I committee yesterday after 12 years so a bit sad but got Mothers' Union later tonight and a chorale society concert on Saturday. Nasty feeling I have missed a PCC meeting but I bet they didn't notice.

Phew. Roll on next (much quieter [fingers' crossed emoticon]) week. Sending best wishes and flowers to you all.

Oldgreymare Wed 16-Oct-13 16:01:06

Congratulations Soop I simply can't fathom out e-bay which is just as well as I tend to be a shopaholic anyway.
Time for a cuppa and a nice cake, it will have to be citrus and chocolate free tho' so Ffinochio's should do the trick.
Getting very excited about my trip to Exeter on Friday, I'm sure you'll get to hear all about it smile

whenim64 Wed 16-Oct-13 13:28:55

Oh, do show us a photo of it, soop! I love an EBay bargain smile

soop Wed 16-Oct-13 12:43:22

Well, the item was well wrapped in several sheets of newspaper contained in a large Pampers nappy carton. It is a bird, seated on a branch and made of iron. The piece is about ten inches long and most unusual. I purchased it over a week ago on ebay. I "won" it for less than £5. Taking the postage into account, the seller has as good as given it to me, I like it a lot. It's unusual and I believe it was made by hand. I shall now give the seller my thanks. I may photograph it later.

Oh, ffin!!!! <grabs butter knife and starts spreading>
