Another myth bites the dust!

I have been watching an episode of Midsomer Murders where a man is supposed to have been poisoned by ground glass. I looked it up, and apparently crushed glass could kill you eventually by cutting up internal organs, but you would know something was wrong and presumably seek help. And who would eat or drink anything with sharp bits in it? Ground glass, fine enough not to be noticed, would not harm you at all.

Oh, well, at least I am not being accused of upsetting anybody whose relatives were killed by ground glass! grin

Just inspired by another pithy aphorism, nonu wink

And some people eat light bulbs, so I've heard....shock
I remember reading a crime novel years ago where ground glass had been put into food.......and she died - of course! wink

I had a child in school once who bit a small light bulb when the class were making electric circuits. Had to take him to A&E!

What some kids will do to get out of physics!

Brendawymms Sun 25-Aug-13 14:51:58

I used to work in A & E and you would be surprised some of the things people eat! ( and pass through the body without injury).

Eloethan grin he was a bit of a pickle!

Greatnan shame on you. You've just given away the secret of an episode I have sat patiently through (and by golly, you do need a bit of patience) only to miss the ending each time. It's clearly the one. !!**!!!
I've only just discovered Midsummer and am enjoying it. Nothing to offend my sensibilities.

Midsomer.
Perhaps I should go back to bed.

Greatnan Mon 26-Aug-13 09:30:24

Sorry, Backagain - I love it too and just suspend disbelief as the bodies pile up in those peaceful villages!
