Selling your house without an agent

My daughter consulted several agencies in New Zealand about selling their house. They advised her to accept $500,000 as the property market was very flat. She put it on Trademe at $540,000 and has just accepted an offer of $545,000. She took lots of photos showing all the rooms and the large gardens. They have found a house to rent on an indefinite lease until they find their perfect home with enough flat land for horses. She is a very clever girl! (Well, a very clever grandmother actually).

She also saved on estate agency fees which are not inconsiderable. She did very well.

Yes, they would have been around $20,000, She loves her present house but she is now determined to have some kind of equestrian business, where she could work from home. As long as they have room for me, I don't mind where they live, as all the Nelson/Tasman area has beautiful countryside, plus the beach.
