It's beginning to dry up here in south Manchester after a very wet start. We might get a nice day yet sunshine

Has been raining here. Not enough for the garden, and now on the TV weather picture, the rain blobs are avoiding Oxfordshire for the day.
I am quite glad it's cool!
Have to go to Oxford, see my daughter, take her to Sainsbury's where she will probably take hours - ah well. at least I can walk a bit now without the stick, and I can go and have a cuppa while she shops for the bargains.....

Good morning - we had a big thunderstorm about 5 this morning - eventually I came down and unplugged the TV and the phone line - storms here can blow both and if the broadband box goes it is trip of about 15 miles to the shop.
Now dull and nicely cool. Enjoy whatever you are doing today.

Still pouring here, when. No chance of getting any gardening done today - what a shame! wink

Autumnal, definitely:

"Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,--
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir, the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft,
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies."

Oh I do like that, Ariadne. It makes a pleasant change from "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" which I also love, but doesn't really fit this morning's weather.

Dull here today, 18 degrees, but no rain as yet.
