Bit scary eh!!

My friend left work at 3.30pm and got home at 1.30am.

Would never happen on a French motorway, I have seen dreadful accidents where the police kept the traffic moving. I know how the motorists felt, happened to us once, stuck on the M25 for five and a half hours.

It wasn't an accident it was a pedestrian in the tunnel and a suspect package.

If they had let the traffic into the tunnel and a bomb had gone off, imagine the furore about their inefficiency. Imagine the death toll!

I think being stuck in a tunnel for even minutes let alone hours would be one my worst nightmares. A propos of very little, our DDs always used to try to hold their breath in the Dartford tunnel!! And as you say, if an explosive device had gone off in the tunnel, the consequences are too awful to imagine.

We're off to Portsmouth on Friday. I think I'll take the alternative route to the QE Bridge!!!

Two years ago I was stuck there for four hours when a lorry caught fire. Not funny with three DGCs in the back.

This is the second time this year that I have been caught in a HUGE jam at the tunnel. I am definitely going to put on of those female toilet things in the car and a pack of water.

There was one suspect package, at Dartford there are two separate tunnels and a bridge.
