Sometime in life you think there's not much can really shock you!
Well last night just before i was to go to bed i had a look at the BBC news on the www web,
(living here in france its one of the better places to read the english news and it gives news from all parts of the uk)

Well a man has been found guilty of having sex with a "GOAT" he admitted the action and was named and shamed,
the farmer who owns the goat was said to have pointed out the goats vet bill and damage done to this animal.

When i read such things and being just an ordinary person i cant help but think what a sad world some people live in.

Im really shocked to read such things and i thought i'd heard it all

See Poppy1's lastest thread entitled 'Take Care'...

Aka Sun 15-Sept-13 17:22:32

What's too late?

Aka Sun 15-Sept-13 17:21:58

Galen it's a statue why should it need external orifices? confused

Ana Sun 15-Sept-13 17:20:14

Too late, I'm afraid...sad

Aka Sun 15-Sept-13 17:19:26

That's what I meant too Poppy when I said to move on. No-one believes you to be a racist but we were just pointing out language that's not acceptable any more.
As J0 so succinctly put it, take it on the chin.

bluebell Sun 15-Sept-13 17:15:13

It's not a 'guess' that GN has to careful with things like this - it's a necessary part of living in the sort of society that tries ( even if it doesn't always succeed) in treating people with respect and taking the use of offensive language seriously.

j08 Sun 15-Sept-13 17:09:43

Don't feel hurt poppy1. You are quite obviously not racist. I guess Gransnet has to be really careful with things like this. Take it on the chin and keep posting. smile

bluebell Sun 15-Sept-13 16:44:18

You used racist language Poppy - it's irrelevant to claim you are not a racist.

Galen Sun 15-Sept-13 16:23:39

AllieOxon when my DH and myself went to Egypt about 45 years ago, we visited the sphynx and I walked round it to examine its external orifice!

It hasn't got one!hmm

JessM Sun 15-Sept-13 16:23:03

And the goat was obviously injured too. Is this thread supposed to be amusing and lighthearted?

JessM Sun 15-Sept-13 16:21:54

Not funny if you are either Welsh or NZ petra - at best, really, really tired humour.

poppy1 Sun 15-Sept-13 16:18:01

Aka
No its not just you,
But you was'nt willing to stand up for what is only right,
if you start making out people are racist then you have to make sure they are.
If your going to make out because a thread is about any subject you may be thought of as something your not?

And you believe your not such a person ?
Then and only then will you understand.

KatyK Sun 15-Sept-13 15:54:28

I am realising that I have led a very sheltered life.

AlieOxon Sun 15-Sept-13 15:50:20

Galen how did YOU know that??

Aka Sun 15-Sept-13 15:31:09

hmm is it just me?????

poppy1 Sun 15-Sept-13 15:26:25

Now since i put this thread on the forum ive had a thread removed saying im racist or at least some remark i made was, (Im not and never have been)

Im sorry i pointed out this very thread as it may be decided im some sort of sex maniac by some folk for putting such a thread on the forum,

Maybe as this subject was highlighted by the BBC its ok to repeat it on this forum,
"Talk about one rule for one and another for others"

NfkDumpling Sun 15-Sept-13 13:31:01

A few years back there was a similar case near where we lived. The bloke was found having 'fun' with a large pig and a bottle of shampoo. The pig didn't seem to object, apparently.

When DH ran a pub in the Lakes one of his regulars was driving home from work and saw one of his neighbour's sheep stuck in a bog. Being a good Samaritan he stopped to help the animal but so as not to ruin his trousers he took them off. That took some explaining when a friend drove past!blush

There was also the witness in legal proceedings who described how he'd walked into the barn one morning and found the defendant standing on a stool, his trousers around his ankles and apparently leaning against a cow's backside. When asked what he did then, the witness replied, "I said Morning George".

I love that statue Riverwalk I saw it in the museum in Naples and was so pleased to find it in the Pompeii exhibition. And the goat seems to be enjoying it too.

Hi Bez,
We're in dept 23 nearest village is Aigurande, and the largest is La-chatre dept 36, we're right on the border, 4 km's and your in dept 36.

I did get one of our dogs from your neck of the woods "Dordogne" the blus cross people, So i have been there,

Here like yous is very very country, mainly farming & no industry to speak off hence the younger ones do move away when they're of school leaving age.

It's a nice place to live if you can live without big stores ie Marks And Spancer etc and litter all over the place, we dont have much if any crime here, maybe the old drink & drive thing but i can honestly say you can leave your doors unlocked while your out in the garden and many a time ive left the car outside with the keys in the ignition for days.

I'd say if you enjoy quiet, peace perfect peace then its here,
infact its so quiet i swear at times you could hear a mouse fart smile

Ana Fri 13-Sept-13 11:26:24
