Separated at Birth

Having posted on another forum about Bob Crowe, it occurred to me that he's quite like his more famous sibling Russell, in that they are both a bit shouty at times. Russell of course is a lot more fit than Bob, well he was when he was in Gladiator, but like Bob he's appears to be too fond of the pies. I think it's possibly quite right say that Russell has more charisma, I'm sure that he would have had no problem getting his brothers to down tools if he was doing Bob's job but I don't think Bob would have made a very good Maximus Decimus and he'd look shite in a skirt!

Another example of two brothers, sadly separated at birth, is of course Lionel and Tony Blair, Lionel being the most talented, although Tony's dancing skills did come to the fore when he danced rings round the country!

Can anyone think of other siblings, or indeed parents and children separated at birth ?

Two of our DSs are the opposite, they should have been twins! They look alike, think alike, enjoy the same things but there is more than 4 years between them! The younger one was actually a twin.

Ozzy Osbourne and his younger brother, George. Sadly, Ozzy failed to get into politics although he would have been much better at it than George, but at least he had music as his fall-back option and will be remembered with affection long after he's gone. Unlike George.

They both seem prone to pudgy face/saggy jaw syndrome in middle age however - genes will out!

Charlie Brown and his brother Gordon. Both cartoon like characters born in the early '50's, one more believable and life-like than the other.... wink

Ana would you know if George ever bit the head off a bat?, if so, it might explain a lot!

Ozzy could possibly manage the economy if Sharon gave him a bit of help, she's quite good with money. Possibly not though, cos any spare cash would have to be diverted into "the rebuilding of face fund" after that in the words of Liam Byrne "there would be nothing left!"

Barbara Windsor and her older sisters Margaret and Elizabeth. Parents George and Elizabeth sadly could afford elocution lessons for all three of them!

Meant "could not" previous post.

Surely Lionel and Tony were two of triplets with Sir Ian who shared Tony's messianic desire to rule the world combined with a complete disregard for the law and two left feet (unlike Lionel).

Yes absent forgot about the "other Blair", just like I forget about Gordon Brown's sister Melanie, Gordon's never really forgave her since she eavesdropped on a conversation he was having with Tony Blair and picked up on what was clearly a mantra of his "i'll tell you what I want what I really really want" Well of course the rest is history, Melanie went on to be "Scary Spice" and Gordon went on to be "Scary Chancellor"!

I know it's not really relevant, but there's a woman who works in our local Waitrose who is the spitting image of John MacCrirrick (the horrid racing chap).

They could be twins, but strangely enough you never see them together....hmm

Tony Benn and his brother Nigel, the famous boxer. I'll bet Tony's dad asked a few questions when Nigel was born.

Actually Barbara Windsor was sent to elocution lessons by her mum and talks dead posh when she wants to smile

I find the idea of the Blair twins scarily believable though!

My mind is still reeling at the thought of a woman who looks like John MacCirrick phoenix I may have to have a stiff drink.

Peter Mandleson bears an uncanny resemblance to the young Robert Maxwell.

I have posted these twins before but happy to do so again

What a great thread this is. You are some very clever ladies.

Anne58 Mon 16-Sept-13 23:09:01

Deedaa it is unfortunate but true. She only needs the silly clothes and flashy rings, but of course she wouldn't be allowed to wear those at Waitrose.

It's a little known fact that before he came up with the design for Sooty, Harry Corbett practiced his puppeteering by shoving his hand up Ronnie's bottom.

There are some who adhere (as indeed did Ronnie) to the theory that it was this that resulted in Ronnie's somewhat small stature.

thanks ,ladies. Off to bed having had a good laugh.
