Good morning! DH is 66 today and (I hope) enjoyed birthday tea with our DDs and husbands plus friend and her little boy yesterday on the final day of our little DGSs 4 day stay with us. After a squally weekend - sunshine and showers - it is typical that today has dawned so sunny and bright - albeit COLD! However, the showers didn't stop fun in the village playground, every day, adventures in nearby Emberton country park, feeding the ducks, playing on the pirate ship, sca-a-a-ry slides and - climax - exploring the "deep dark wood" of Salcey Forest yesterday with its Treetop Walk, mysterious jungle undergrowth and (despite Mummy and Daddy forgetting to send their wellies wth them )- some serious wading through muddy puddles by little bro (22 months)!! DD1 and SIL arrived back from the wedding they had been at in Florence right in the middle of bathtime so they could take the little men home in their PJs.
You might understand why I didn't wake up until nearly 8 this morning!
