DD2 gave birth to Charlotte Ivy, to be known as Lottie, at 7.35. She weighed 8 b 9.5oz. I've just seen a photo and she looks gorgeous - now there's a surprise!

DD got to hospital at 4.30 and was 'gutted' to discover that she was only one cm dilated and might be sent home. Luckily she wasn't!

hat happened to my daughter at Queen's Med. Thankfully she and her husband said if they tried to send her home they'd just go and sit in the cafe..baby was born soon after! Congratulations; what a day! [so will you now have two grandchildren with the same birthday?]

Kitty congratulations to all. Will she make the birthday party?

Mind you a 5yr old might feel a bit upstaged by a brand new baby turning up at her party. flowers

Thank you all for your lovely messages. flowers

Tegan, although the party is today, DGD1 is not 5 until tomorrow. However, today is Lottie's uncle's birthday (DS2), yesterday was one great uncle's birthday (my brother) and tomorrow is also another great uncle's birthday (DH's brother).

Nellie, I doubt Lottie will make it to the party but the problem is - whose party do we go to next year confused

gracesmum Sat 28-Sept-13 11:59:55

Thank you for the wonderful news. Always cheering to hear of a new arrival flowers

At both my births I did not dilate in the normal manner, rather suddenly, all at once. Babies shot out as if from a cannon and then I closed up again. Midwife said I had a pelvis like a rat trap! [nice]
