Just sticking the microwavable slipper-socks in for a minute first.

glamma, glass, Galen, Negligent and anyone else still up, why not hop on your broomsticks, summon a Tardis or whatever and whizz on over to my place? It's just coming up to lunch time here, there is Sauvignon Blanc and home-made quiche in the fridge and the sun is belting down. I apologise for not having got round to buying any garden furniture yet, but we mowed the lawn yesterday or we can sit on the steps outside the sliding doors (they get very warm). I have missed the meet-ups since I left the UK so a virtual meet-up would be good. grin

Really? See - old fogies are my kinda people though. Don't think I'll be bored by any stretch. I love old people, grumpy people and microwaveable slipper-socks.grin

Hi Negligentmother and welcome. You are certainly not the only member of Gransnet who isn't a grandparent but you might well be the youngest. However, we are not entirely a bunch of old fogies – or at least not all the time – so you may well enjoy yourself.

glass party out of the question my body is still not over the wedding week-end and to be honest I think the 4 x 4 broomstick is out of petrol,I think I had a leaky tank from my last emergency landing,it may have been when the Local Police stopped me as I flew in over The Mersey at our last party at Great Orme,I got caught in the overhead Telephone wires.grin blame that biker she was a bad influence on me with her suped up transport. Enough frivolity I must get to bed as I have the job of taking the two little ones to church to-morrow they serve on the alter and my DD has Sunday school to do in another room so I am on guard to make sure little man does not perform whilst the Priest is giving his sermon.grinnite-nite moonmoon

My daughter sketched it after one of my nieces gave me her "life-like" doll thingy to hold whilst she nipped off somewhere. I don't like dolls much anyway but those dolls freak me out no end. hmm

Later learned my teenage daughter had captured the moment in an illustration which I rather liked. smile

Be thee welcome me dearie!

Oh cake is a necessity, you cant get past GNHQ without it wink but dont need Grandchildren.

Negligentmother Sat 05-Oct-13 23:22:19

Actually no - I've lurked on Mumsnet but didn't fancy diving in over there so came here instead. Too much talk of babies and toddlers and feminism stuff that's a bit too heavy for my liking.

I know I could've just chosen not to say anything but then there may be have a been a discussion further down the line about grand-kids or cake and then I'd be busted and no more trusted.

Ana Sat 05-Oct-13 23:19:16

Well, you didn't actually have to tell anyone you aren't a grandparent, Negligent! Just dive in...smile

glassortwo Sat 05-Oct-13 23:19:04

Have you come over from the dark side (Mumsnet) grin

Negligentmother Sat 05-Oct-13 23:17:34

Yay! Thanking you kindly. smile Spent a short while looking for a "Non-Grans" section but then saw there wasn't one so though "Oh dear... am I safe?" wink

glassortwo Sat 05-Oct-13 23:11:33

Of course you can post here neligentmother we are not all grandparents. smile Welcome to Gransnet.

Negligentmother Sat 05-Oct-13 23:08:57

OK so I'm not a Grandparent and I'm only in my thirties. Can I still post or will I be thrashed within an inch of my life and forced to flee the forum?
