I apologise for not having got round to buying any garden furniture yet, but we mowed the lawn yesterday or we can sit on the steps outside the sliding doors (they get very warm). I have missed the meet-ups since I left the UK so a virtual meet-up would be good.

Hi Negligentmother and welcome. You are certainly not the only member of Gransnet who isn't a grandparent but you might well be the youngest. However, we are not entirely a bunch of old fogies – or at least not all the time – so you may well enjoy yourself.

My daughter sketched it after one of my nieces gave me her "life-like" doll thingy to hold whilst she nipped off somewhere. I don't like dolls much anyway but those dolls freak me out no end.

Later learned my teenage daughter had captured the moment in an illustration which I rather liked.
