....a whole pot of paperclips are joined together in a chain smile

Whoops! Saw this in "discussions of the day" and didn't realise thread was an old one. blush

It's when you open a bottle of wine mid-week when you only normally have a drink on Friday and Saturday!
And you go to relax in the conservatory and find the floor is wall to wall with completed puzzles!

The bidet tap is on! - my DGD loves the bidet and plays endlessly in it; she regards it as having been built just for her as it is at the right height for playing. But we always have to check that the tap is off after she leaves.

rosequartz Wed 11-Nov-15 18:45:20

Luckygirl perhaps why our bidet is sitting in the attic unconnected to any water grin

loopylou Wed 11-Nov-15 18:56:53

It's the DGS nose-level smudges on the patio doors grin
Never fails to make me smile, along with toy cars fished out from under the sofa and 'drawings' in my work diary.

rosequartz Wed 11-Nov-15 19:01:46

nose-level smudges
DIL's sister calls them 'snail trails' grin

Or putting your bare foot on a hidden piece of Lego lurking in the carpet

loopylou Wed 11-Nov-15 19:05:10

I was trying to be a little more delicate than DH's 'Snail Snot' roseq!

rosequartz Wed 11-Nov-15 19:06:55

Sorry!

rosequartz Wed 11-Nov-15 19:07:52

Oh, not such indelicacies as Snot in our house - they're 'snail trails'
We're posh here loopylou

loopylou Wed 11-Nov-15 19:11:17

grin
We try but....

Every light in the house is on even when sunny outside. I once said " It's like Crystal Palace here" , which my DGDs found very funny and try to reproduce it every time they come Do I mind? Of course not ❤️

paddyann Fri 11-Aug-17 16:24:19

Outtawork Fri 11-Aug-17 20:40:58

ditto the lego & my small coffee table is always upside down being used as a boat, also his brothers wallet was found in the toybox?

Norah Fri 11-Aug-17 21:09:58

Not a sweet or pudding left in the house.

MamaCaz Fri 11-Aug-17 21:28:41

Grandad's slippers have been hidden again - how long before he remembers that they usually turn up in the washing machine after dgd has been? grin

Cherrytree59 Fri 11-Aug-17 21:34:04

My DGC visited with DD to feed the cats whilst we had couple of days away.

Well of course the patio window had the signature hand prints.
The ginger biscuits were no more
The lawn was covered in sand.
And the cats hadn't managed to munch their way through large heap of crunchiessmile.

We did miss our wee Honey buns!

I know all the story books off by heart (18 month old ). My brain hurts trying to remember the names of War Hammer figures (14 yr old). I have no food left in the fridge. I haven't sat down for hours. I feel tired but very happy.

midgey Fri 11-Aug-17 23:25:42

There is glitter everywhere.....

J52 Fri 11-Aug-17 23:29:15

I was just about to post the same!

Greyduster Sat 12-Aug-17 15:58:47

When you wonder why a previously full pack of moist toilet wipes has mysteriously depleted along with the dry toilet paper (even when he has had the riot act read to him about it before!). When you just know that if you ask if he wants to watch a film, it is going to be Percy Jackson Lightning Thief - again - and again - and there is an abseiling Action Man hanging off the blind cord in his bedroom!

Wheniwasyourage Sat 12-Aug-17 17:07:12

It's Yogi Bear for our DGCs. Every time, and we love it grin

How do Lego bits manage to hide so that they keep turning up months after the last visit of DGCs? Every time you hoover or sweep the floor there's another one, and they get under the rug which you know you lifted and swept beneath after they left!

NannyJan53 Sat 12-Aug-17 18:10:36

The cushions are all on the floor!

Chewbacca Sat 12-Aug-17 18:44:26

The floor, table, chairs, cushions, and me have glitter all over us. And it stays for months no matter how many times you clean it up!

Cherrytree59 Sat 12-Aug-17 19:01:03

Can anybody tell me how to remove glitter from rattan furniture (lodged between the weave)
I have red glitter sparkling in the sunshinesmile
Have tried vacuuming, hairdryer, washing and polishing!

NfkDumpling Sat 12-Aug-17 19:02:56

They've just left. My iPad is all sticky, the door handles are all sticky my feet stick to the kitchen floor, but they've washed they hands - honest - and there's youngest's soft toy, who he can't sleep without under the chair.
