Stepford grannies?

Hear, hear - was it 5 threads on tea towels and laundry matters. I despaired but also suspect mischief.

Oh come on! We need a good mix of threads.

They have been quite fun, actually. Not every thread has to be about something deadly serious. Laundry is not the most earth-shatteringly important subject under the sun, but it is definitely something that everyone has in common!

Why mischief?

I, for one, have been away for a few days and had a big wash load to contend with. It focussed my mind on all the little things I have pondered over over a long and fruitful marriage.

Ironing tomorrow.

And there has been a serious and very sensible thread about how to respond to people with worries. It is possible to hold several conversations at the same time, at different levels.

We might write about this stuff, but do any of us actually do It?

I thought that jings got fed up of being ticked off on A Certain Thread and decided to present a goody two shoes image for a wee while. Love it

Just for tonight I am sick of doom and gloom and enjoyed the lighthearted sock/wash chats about more mundane subjects. Took my mind off those more important matters for a while.

I learned something useful. I didn't know you could nuke the germs on your dishcloth in the microwave. I'm a bit OCD and that will save me pounds because I'll stop boiling and bleaching the cloth every time I used it and nuke it instead

I was interested in the thread re heated airing racks (or whatever they're called). I had wondered if they were a good idea and it was useful to get other people's opinions. Sometimes it's helpful to get info about more mundane, practical issues.

Whilst on the subject of ironing does anyone use spray starch and, if so, does it make the ironing easier?

If you want clothes that stand up on their own!

Someone told me it gives the fabric the appearance of being newer.
