I thought it would be a good idea to open a thread where those of us who are upset by this news can comfort each other. Better to share thoughts here and leave the IMPORTANT thread for on-going efforts to find her.

I've relit my candle this morning. As night draws in on the other side of the world I hope it helps Carol's family to see all the candles glowing with the love and hope we are sending out.

Amazing sight - 569 candies from 22 countries.

Galen Wed 06-Nov-13 08:45:33

Don't be silly!

Iam64 Wed 06-Nov-13 08:27:59

Thistle - no need to apologise, of course you didn't mean your candle was the only one. Stay with the thread and the positive and loving thoughts for Carol and her family.

Thistledoo Certainly no need to apologise. Your comment was heartfelt - and not at all insignificant.

Thistledoo Wed 06-Nov-13 08:20:12

So sorry, didn't mean that my one candle was the only one, just one to join all the others, representing hope, it was just my small contribution to show heartfelt support. Hope you were not offended, I will be careful about my wording in future.

560 virtual candles burning now for Carol. Still hoping.

My candle is lit tonight. Sending positive thoughts to Carol and her family

Anne58 Wed 06-Nov-13 00:23:21

Another candle here too, with what Carol might have said ringing in my ears as I did it!

We have come to the end of another day, but not to the end of our hope.

Stay strong, strength has always been Carols driving force, coupled with love and pride for her family, if anyone can still be there, it's Carol.

Love, hope and strength to all.

Goodnight

R xx

My candle is lit tonight too , such a little flame shining out in the darkness - but together they all make a blaze of light. Hoping so much for a miracle very soon.

Thistledoo Tue 05-Nov-13 19:07:20

Little candle lit for Carol and family here in the Highlands of Scotland, so small, so insignificant, but a tearful tiny beacon of HOPE.

I thought what a load of old tosh before clicking on the link. Those candles and Galen's words have found me fighting back the tears.

I've been away awhile and logged in to this truly awful scenario. Unbelievable. I so hope there'll be the news everyone is waiting for tomorrow. Such a shock.

Galen Tue 05-Nov-13 18:24:29

Candle lit with tears and hope with prayers for the family

Iam64 Tue 05-Nov-13 18:02:39

I've just logged on to catch up on the news about Carol. The candles burning symbolise so much. LaraGreatgrandaughter, thanks so much for taking the time to keep in touch with us.
Grannyactivist's post expresses so well that for Carol, her family means everything. The love and pride she felt for all her family is at the heart of her. The way her family are responding to her being missing is so like Carol, determined, loving and the ability to think creatively.
Thanks also to Granjura and When, and everyone else for working so hard, and taking the time to update these threads

Just lit a candle - may this solidarity of hope, support and love keep Carol safe and may she be found soon. With peace and hope in my heart....

janeainsworth Tue 05-Nov-13 17:39:23

kittylester Tue 05-Nov-13 16:30:42

I've lit a candle too. And just needed to connect. Keep strong everyone.
