I thought it would be a good idea to open a thread where those of us who are upset by this news can comfort each other. Better to share thoughts here and leave the IMPORTANT thread for on-going efforts to find her.

I looked at the weather web cam for mieussy but the nearest is at Haberes. Quite heavy rain.

What wonderful people there are in the world, it restores your faith in human nature.

My thoughts have been and still are of course, with Carol's family, how hard for them to be so far away.

I'm trying to have only positive thoughts.

Praying that the car that has been found really is Carol's car.

Please let this latest news lead somewhere.

Thistledoo Mon 04-Nov-13 10:34:30

Have been away from GN for a while, devastated to read about poor Carol.
Hope the new developments will give hope to her family.

merlotgran Mon 04-Nov-13 10:33:35

I've just logged in. Having seen granjura's post on the updates thread I'm not going to comment other than saying my thoughts are with Carol's family right now.

Galen Mon 04-Nov-13 10:13:25

It says it was found parked at the start of one of the trails, if my translation is right.

glassortwo Mon 04-Nov-13 10:11:52

Oh hope so, thought thats what it said but didnt want to build my hopes up.

Aurelia Mon 04-Nov-13 10:10:43

The Tribune de Geneve online reports that Carol's car has been found near Mieussy. I do hope that this true, and good news.

glassortwo Mon 04-Nov-13 10:09:14

Galen Mon 04-Nov-13 10:01:57

There was a really nice message on Facebook from Fiona this morning thanking the people who had searched the area at the weekend. As she said, Carol would have done the same for them. So hard.

tanith Mon 04-Nov-13 09:36:37

Still reading and hoping trying not clog up things with useless posts of my own,.. feel a bit helpless if I'm honest.. superwomen all of you.

Zephrine Mon 04-Nov-13 09:18:23

Those ladies from the Swiss forum are trying so hard, I could feel their disappointment in their posts. Pray we have some news today.

annodomini Mon 04-Nov-13 09:15:12

I'll be back this afternoon - still in Didcot. Family have all shared and re-tweeted. I hope with recharged batteries, I will be able to think more clearly.

Mishap Mon 04-Nov-13 09:04:28

So sorry to hear there is no news this morning. Thoughts with family and friends.

Iam64 Mon 04-Nov-13 08:27:14

I have just watched the interview with Heather, thanks for posting the link. Thanks to Heather for giving such a calm and positive interview. Thanks as well to When, Granjura and the rest for all their efforts to keep the search for Carol in the headlines.

Mamie Mon 04-Nov-13 08:21:09

I think everybody, and particularly Granjura, have done a lot to raise the issue in the local communities. I feel a lot more optimistic that the local search is properly underway, than I did last week.

whenim64 Mon 04-Nov-13 08:02:31

I've given myself a good talking to - enough with the feelings of helplessness, what is it we can actually do to help?

Keep retweeting and sharing on Facebook, please. If you see any links that can be posted so people can email or tweet them, put them on the 'Updates* thread to remind people to keep the momentum up so they don't stop searching for Carol. Weekend's over, so some people might not know what's been going on. They might read our posts and think of something. Keep clicking 'like' and 'share' on the family's Facebook posts about Carol. Help to keep up the momentum, and raise everyone's awareness that she is still missing.

glassortwo Mon 04-Nov-13 07:30:56

Keep strong everyone.

bluebell Mon 04-Nov-13 07:25:15

And it should have been such a happy time - the house looks stunning and all that will seem as nothing at the moment

glammanana Mon 04-Nov-13 07:17:58

My heart goes out to her she must be under so much strain at the moment.

Minty Mon 04-Nov-13 07:17:03

I can not even begin to think how they all are, words are just so inadequate.
Keep strong for them.

whenim64 Mon 04-Nov-13 07:12:24

Carol's daughter, Fiona, moved house this weekend, too. Can you imagine the amount of stress she is experiencing? Just moving house is bad enough!
