This really is a flying visit. Just wanted to make sure that the kitchen is cosy and that there are sufficient refreshments for you all. Optician called and needs me to return for a second peripheral eye test. Whilst we're in town, Mr soop suggested that, as it's still the week of his birthday, we should have lunch in the newly refurbished hotel. What's a girl to do ...I agreed, naturally. I shall be back this afternoon to read all the updates. Keep warm. Keep safe. Enjoy each other's company.

Enjoy your lunch soop and I hope there are no problems with your eyes. My son's eyes seem to have settled for a while, (diabetic, going slowly blind), but I hate it when he has yet another check-up

I'm having lunch too, with an old friend, and tonight I'm off to see the Halle orchestre play the Bruch violin concerto. I can't wait

I've brought some fruit loaf, which makes yummy toast (with lots of butter natch), and the kettle has just boiled.

Oops! The orchestra has turned French!

I have been putting off my physio exercises and I have just remembered, after reading Soop's post, I have not put my eyedrops in. Tut Tut.
I need to get some organising and filing done this am. Not just relaxing and chatting in Soops kitchen. Have a good day. I will be in later.

I want to gut my kitchen and start again, the older it (and I) get the longer it takes to clean.

Small kitchens and the current trend for more 'stove-top' cooking means mine gets grubby so quickly..... YUK!
Perhaps if I play some rousing/energising music?
This afternoon bodes better..... hairdo (5 weekly cut and blowdry) cinema to see 'Philomena' then Tapas at a local hostelry.

Grrrrrrr! Just had Indian sounding bloke on phone telling me my computer had been corrupted. I let him ramble on for a bit then mildly remarked ' how strange as I use apple!' Click. Dialling tone!

Which Tapas place are you going to OGM? We seem to have a superfluity of them in Portishead. At least 3 to my knowledge.

Why is that OGM? It's the same with my kitchen and bathroom as well. Even when I clean them they never look properly clean .

Galen My exH has just been emailed by Paypal (?) and informed that if he didn't download his money immediately by putting his pin 'here', they would close his account and send the money back!!!
He fell for it too!

So beware all of you with Paypal scrub that, you lot are far too intelligent to fall for that!

I had a similar email, purporting to be from Paypal and reported it as spam immediately.

Minibags's fourth migraine today. Had to collect her from school so just as well MrBags is off colour with a coughy cold so is working from home today and the car was available. I've made an appointment for the quack to see her this afternoon.

Good morning afternoon! I have been invigilating GCSE Maths in a freezing cold Sports Hall at my old school, earnng something around the minimum wage for 2 1/2 hours! I have since hung out the washing - and then brought it straight in again as the rain has started fot the day. I am cold, hungry (!) and now need to get busy in the kitchen as DH has that soulful look in his eyes just like Grace which means "Feed me!" Huh! What I would really like to do is some baking with a good radio play on in the background. Cardamon shortbread anybody?

You know how to live Gracesmum - invigilation - its boring isn't it but someone's got to do it. Yes, baked anything please.
Still wondering why the car (two years old and silent up to this point) suddenly found a voice and started telling me stuff just when i was in the middle of a tricky de-parking (one of those where you think - did I park that badly?). Something about a phone. . Did not realise up to this point that it was in fact a she.

Migraines are horrid . Hope she gets sorted bags. There's a good thread on here about migraines with a lot of info and advice; my sons girlfriend has awful migraines and I'd give anything to help her.

Y son used to get them. Usually when travelling or stressed. In fact he still does!

DH suffered migraines for years. We tried every remedy going. Specialists, GP and allergy testing, starting with 5 ingredients then slowly introducing others.
Nothing was helping then eventually after one particularly bad episode realised the trigger for him was fresh cream. Worked out that during stressful periods, best to avoid too much dairy for him. DH is also easily stressed and a worrymonger and I am convinced that played a big part in his case. He hasn't suffered one for 5 years now.

Hope you find a remedy for Minibags. They are hellish and just as upsetting to witness.

Tea sounds good kitty And does anyone know why UK insurance has sent me a mysterious cheque, no explanation, for £33.32. . If it was anything to do with the house move then it is 3 months late.

I had a call from India about my computer. If I had felt like it, I would have strung them along for a while, but couldn't be bothered. So just told that I didn't have a computer!
