kitty I sent you [hugs] but 1000 messages later means that we need to open an extension.

It's been a strange day. Apart from worrying about the whereabouts of Greatnan I've not been very productive. The weather is behaving in an unsettled fashion. Inky clouds, Lashing rain. The promise of a brighter sky. Please keep coming to the kitchen. I would miss the company of you lot if you stayed away. smile

More birthday wishes from me anno. cupcake
My brother has always loved Bonfire Night, more than Christmas or his birthday - so what an amazing thing it was when, having been told it was hugely unlikely he would ever become a father, his son was born on - yes, November 5th. smile

I've just popped in to fortify myself with friendship before I do a nasty job today and I find a birthday party, Happy Birthday Anno . I hope you have a good day. flowers

Tegan Tue 05-Nov-13 10:32:06

Happy birthday anno. Hadn't realised it was Nov 5 [confused that's what retirement does to people] so thought I was over the worst with my dog and her firework phobia. Looks like I need to pump a bit more valerian into her and turn the radio up a notch higher...

Happy Birthday Anno flowers.
Last evening I put up two recipes on the food thingy. I should have waited until this morning as I made a mistake with the ingredients of the shortbread. I have corrected that. I blame it on the two glasses of wine drunk to celebrate DH being finished for the time being, with Ninewells Hospital.
Oh, and I baked American cookies and DH says they are delicious so I have brought some with me for morning coffee.
Still no news though. sad

LizG, my senior GD, now 21, has an unforgettable birthday on Hogmanay, but starts reminding me sometime around midsummer! How could I forget my first GC's birthday?

LizG Tue 05-Nov-13 09:07:06

Thank you Anno yes a good day for a birthday. Mind you she has been reminding us several times daily for the past couple of weeks so difficult to forget.

Gally Tue 05-Nov-13 09:03:59

Happy Birthday Anno flowers.
I was up with the lark, showered, dressed and ready to go into Edinburgh with a friend to see the Mary Queens of Scots Exhibition when she rang to say she had changed her mind - hmm so I will just join you for a second breakfast, if that's ok, and then get on with the paperwork which I have been putting off for weeks - it's an ill wind and all that.

Hello folks, just popped in to wish you a Happy Birthday Anno, flowers and wine later maybe?

Still in my pjs, but I'm sure soop won't mind, I've brought some fresh eggs to go with the bacon, and I'm putting the kettle on now, I need a mug this morning.

Oldgreymare Tue 05-Nov-13 08:51:31

Sorry flowers

Happy Birthday Anno [Flowers] and wine
I remember the 'blue touch paper days'. I prefered to watch from indoors as all the 'naughty' boys would let off 'Jackie-jumpers' and they always seemed to jump in my direction!

annodomini Tue 05-Nov-13 08:44:43

Thanks all. Yes, Jess. Wouldn't that be just wonderful. LizG it's a good date to have a birthday - hard for friends and family to forget! But also celebrating with fireworks is such fun. After the war, when we were allowed to have fireworks, my friends and I would sit on the front room windowsill while my dad and uncle 'lit the blue touch paper'. Then we had cake and lemonade. So happy birthday to your DGD.

AlieOxon Tue 05-Nov-13 08:44:11
