janthea Sun 17-Nov-13 18:33:16

97%!

Brendawymms Sun 17-Nov-13 18:41:53

I got 91% which I don't think is bad for someone who is dyslexic.

Daisyanswerdo Sun 17-Nov-13 18:47:45

Another Grammar Guru - Grammar does sound like something our grandchildren might call us!

MrsSB Sun 17-Nov-13 18:56:51

97%, I got the whom one wrong too, because I just did it without thinking too deepky about it. I'm annoyed wirh myself for getting it wrong.

AlieOxon Sun 17-Nov-13 18:58:54

I got 94%, got the which/that one wrong - and still don't see it!

Elegran Sun 17-Nov-13 19:08:11

Ana It told me I had that one wrong! How can one of us be right and one wrong with the same answer? Do you think they are working to a quota and their results have to fit a standard curve. Unfair! Stamp! Sulk!
I shall report them to the exam board (or whoever!)

feetlebaum Sun 17-Nov-13 19:09:43

97% - I shouldn't have altered the who/whom one!

Ana Sun 17-Nov-13 20:00:18

Yes, that's very odd, Elegran! Perhaps I'll try doing it again and see if I get the same result with the same answers...

MiceElf Sun 17-Nov-13 20:03:04

Well there you are. It's a quiz on the internet. Fun, but that's all. And who is to say what is correct and incorrect? Language changes and develops as societies change and develop, and who are these quiz setters who purport to know better than Elegran et al?

Ana Sun 17-Nov-13 20:04:59

Have just done the test again, with the same answers for 'lie' and 'lay' and I'm still a 100% Grammar Guru. confused

Ana Sun 17-Nov-13 20:06:08

Not et al, MiceElf - Elegran seems to have been given the wrong marks!

Nonu Sun 17-Nov-13 20:07:52

It whiles away a SUnday evening ! grin

Mishap Sun 17-Nov-13 20:10:41

100% here.

Grannyknot Sun 17-Nov-13 20:40:00

Me too (100%) ... but I know I sometimes make grammatical errors :P

Icyalittle Sun 17-Nov-13 20:47:11

Easy peasy too - dreadful pedant here!

Aka Sun 17-Nov-13 20:59:43

Yes, I managed 110% as I added some of my own questions.

Nelliemoser Sun 17-Nov-13 21:17:57

81per cent. I have always had problems with grammar. I tend to do it instinct or guess work rather than full knowledge. The apostrophies( and that might be a wrong spelling) on the time and the whom got me as well as a couple of others.

NanaKath3 Sun 17-Nov-13 21:26:02

I'm a grandma guru! wink

hummingbird Sun 17-Nov-13 22:13:02

Easy -100%. I had to consider the whom/who question for a moment or two, though!

Deedaa Sun 17-Nov-13 22:57:12

100% smile This is not to say that my grammar is always correct, but I like to think that I'm doing it on purpose when I get something wrong.

grumppa Sun 17-Nov-13 23:27:40

100%, but some of it was spelling (e.g. weather/whether) rather than grammar, and I'm not sure I'd "lay" a book anywhere. And while "which" was definitely correct in the second part of the relevant question, I would have thought that common usage would have permitted "which" or "that" in the first part; after all, at the end of the day grammar is, essentially, built on accepted usage.

gracesmum Sun 17-Nov-13 23:37:15

100% natch but I agree with Grumppa about "laying" a book (Ouch!! said the Ooh-Aah bird")grin
It was a bit easy though and horrifying how many people regularly get many of these wrong (according to their stats)- but you only have to look at Facebook to be equally horrified.

sunflowersuffolk Mon 18-Nov-13 05:08:36

94% but just recovering from a migraine - that's my excuse .
