Been there far too often, by which time have forgotten to write the new password down in my safe place.

nanapug Fri 22-Nov-13 17:54:47

Brilliant x

NfkDumpling Fri 22-Nov-13 18:01:56

Wonderful! Thank you Mishap.

I've just changed my Apple password for the umpteenth time. I forgot it once, just once, and got myself into a spiral, now I've just decided to reset each time and go with whatever gobbledygook they suggest.

Eloethan Sat 23-Nov-13 01:26:09

Brilliant.

The hoops they make you jump through sometimes bring me close to tears of frustration.

alternativegran Sat 23-Nov-13 06:41:26

just love it Mishap, been there so many times.

My computer is set up with a grandson as a second user, if anything happens to me the family could get into the computer.

Love a laugh first thing on a Saturday morning, thank you Mishap grin

Titter titter
Seriously though how is one human suppose to remember all theses codes

Alarm code
Door code to office
Door code to office kitchen
Password for computer
Username for the computer
Password to site
Username
All before 8 in the morning all changed regularly. That's not including
Password to claim expenses
Username to claim expenses
Door codes to 2 sites I visit regularly.
Whow betide me if I just happen to forget any of these . My mums old co-op number, my husbands army number, every cat/dog we have ever had are all about to expire. What then ..

JessM Sat 23-Nov-13 07:53:29

I've got a spreadsheet of my passwords... but still have problems at times.
One website that I have to use for work, that charges lots of money for its services, has decided to refuse to "remember" my password. grrr

Nelliemoser Sat 23-Nov-13 09:01:44

I was ever having trouble at work as we had to change the login password monthly. To do that, remember to note it down, answer the phones (within three rings) and make notes on who rang about what all at the same time was a nightmare. The Help Desk were very patient with me.

Charleygirl Sat 23-Nov-13 09:06:07

Mishap That was very funny and so true.

gillybob Sat 23-Nov-13 09:08:54

Love it Mishap grin

Elegran Sat 23-Nov-13 09:14:26

I helped someone else (over our phones) to join and set up Skype. She was filling in the forms, I was advising blind and unable to see what she put in, so she told me what username/password combination she had put in. Then she did the Capcha what-letters-did-you-see bit and got it wrong several times so had to start again - new username and password.

This was repeated again and again until she got one right and was rewarded by being told she had suceeded and to now please enter her username and password to be connected - she had tried so many that neither of us could remember which one had been successful.

So I still can't Skype her.

soop Sat 23-Nov-13 12:21:42

Elegran That made me rock with laughter. Thank you.

soop Sat 23-Nov-13 12:26:39

Mishap I found it impossible to share this with Mr soop. I couldn't get the words out without spluttering coffee...grin

Mishap I found it impossible to share this with Mr soop. I couldn't get the words out without spluttering coffee...grin

soop Sat 23-Nov-13 12:27:40

...and I'm trigger happy with it!

Elegran Sat 23-Nov-13 12:33:25

Soop Are you on Skype so that you can virtually join us next Sunday? Get Mr S. to do the link. It really is easy (if you remember what you entered on the form for username and password, and you can read the Capcha thing) I will send you a PM with my Skype username on it so that you can test it out. Then you click something to "send a contact request", I confirm it, and we are in business.

Still don't know whethr the group contact thing will work to have several people able to see and hear bits of the meeting, but if we don't try it out we will never know.
