I've just had a very long one to one conversation with my seventeen year old Afghan foster son, which gladdened my heart. He described how, when he lived in Afghanistan, he cared only about himself and his family and that his attitude then was typical of the culture. He explained that since coming to England and seeing and experiencing for himself how much people care about each other he has changed and is now beginning to care for others in a way he never has before. He said, "inside myself I have changed and now I am starting to care about other people".
Gave me a warm fuzzy moment.
