I have a samsung galaxy note 10 and absolutely love it. My phone is a samsung so I found it easy that they both work in the samde way.

Have just got back from Bluewater and My OH has bought me a Samsung Galaxy 8" tablet. Can't wait 'till Christmas to start using it. Be prepared for many questions!!

I wouldn't touch the Kindle Fire as you are restricted to Amazon software and apps.

I have a Kindle Fire and an iPad. Definitely prefer the iPad.

Love my iPad , have no knowledge of others sorry

Love the iPad but the ones before current one is heavy to hold for any length of time I.e. Reading a book. The iPad mini is light and powerful so is great for all things except looking at web pages which I find too small. You would have the same problem with all 7" tablets. The apple operating system is wonderful. The nexus 7 has a strange operating system that does not have access to all google apps. That's its main problem. The andriod systems very in terms of operating systems so not that easy to transfer between them.
The iPad Air is light, large and fast so it gets my tick. I have a ipad4 at the moment and am saving pennies to get an Air.
Apple have the whole thing licked.

I sometimes wonder what I did before I had my iPad as I have become quite addicted attached to it and feel rather guilty about wasting so much time messing about on it blush

I love the iPad, and as I haven't tried anything else, that is all l I can offer. One though, the security is first class on Apple stuff and you don't need anything else.

I love my tablet, it is smaller and lighter than an ipad - something to consider if you have a dodgy shoulder like me and a very heavy handbag - it is a google nexus7. The only thing it doesn't do, maybe the later version does, is take forward photos. I can only take selfies. Also although I can watch iplayer, and videos on youtube, it doesn't let me watch them through facebook so I have to watch them on my computer if someone has posted something funny. At first it didn't support flashplayer at all, but they updated it. There are some excellent tablets around that are so much cheaper than ipads. What do you want to use yours for? I use mine to check on my ebay purchases, read books I have bought on the kindle app, I run a forum and can do that, I have several language learning apps, I can do my tesco shop before I get home from a holiday, I catch up with emails, and use facebook and catch up with tv programmes. I can use it as a satnav, and can skype with it. I can watch films on it and can download things to it from my phone and computer. There is a huge range of free apps that you can use.

I wished when I bought mine that I could borrow all of the tablets for a week to try them out. I would never want to be without my computer but we were away all last summer and I managed perfectly well, although I did have to stand on a chair in Colombiers in order to be able to watch the last episode of The Returned... You soon learn which places have free wifi!

It's worth the £1 to read up on them all.

Wouldn't know as I've only used an iPad.
The iPad came out tops in the Which magazine.

My DS swears by his Nexus 7 Android tablet. The newer version is lighter and faster and there's a new Android OS (Kit Kat) which he says is better. There's a Nexus 10 as well, bigger but not necessarily better. Go to Google Play to find out the details.

Advice please ladies. My OH is moaning that an ipad is too expensive and wants to get me a tablet, but I have heard that an ipad is so much better. Opinions please smile
