Hello everyone! I have just joined Gransnet and look forward to some interesting discussions. Won't go into loads of details about myself, its all in my profile if you are interested. Have enjoyed looking at some of the threads and will be joining in with some very soon!

Ah well I was a young mom, lol. Had my first when I was 20, got married first time around when I was 19. Seems sooo long ago now, almost like it happened to someone else. smile x

An archaeologist! envy I wanted to do that but decided at age 11 that medicine paid more.

Florrie64 Sun 05-Jan-14 14:02:48

@ Galen, Pretty much anything pays more! Its not a job you do for the money, only for the love of it. Most of the time you are either too hot, too cold, too wet and covered in mud but when you find something interesting it is worth all the discomfort. Actually wanted to be a palaeontologist when I was a kid but settled for archaeology when I went to university 10 years ago, best thing I ever did! grin x

I joined sometime back, but today have been having a good look round and getting used to the site. At first, I was bothered that anything I wrote could be lost in the forum, and that I wouldn't be able to find my back! I live Royston, but hopefully will be moving down to New Milton to be near my daughter. I find house moving gives me a complete range of emotions. I moved to Royston in 1968 when I was young (there was a time)

Welcome to the newcomers all!

Galen Sun 05-Jan-14 14:36:50

You don't have to be mad here, but it helps

Charleygirl Sun 05-Jan-14 14:47:55

Yes Galen, a few of us are inflicted with this condition. On the whole I am fairly harmless.

Florrie64 Sun 05-Jan-14 15:14:39

Oh am definitely quite mad, although mostly harmless! grin
Thanx for the welcome everyone and a big 'hello'! to all the other new members too xxx

LizG Sun 05-Jan-14 15:38:46

Welcome Florrie, Bez and Pergola hope to see you around.

Pittcity Sun 05-Jan-14 16:39:03

Hello Florrie, Bez and Pergola.
I notice that you are from Somerset Florrie. Please drop by your Gransnet Local Page as the editor is quite lonely on the local forums and you could help by introducing yourself there and perhaps adding a favourite local business or two to the free listings.

grandma60 Sun 05-Jan-14 17:26:01

Hello everybody especially, the newcomers. I'm quite new to gransnet as well and still finding my way around although already addicted. Pergola nice to hear you are moving to Hampshire. There doesn't seem to be many gransnetters around here.
