merlotgran Sat 25-Jan-14 20:42:18

I'm on my way, Galen. When DH found out I was firing up the broomstick to go north of the border he insisted on hooking up the trailer because he's ordered two sacks of Scotland's finest seed potatoes. This will (he says) save on delivery costs. hmm

Could have been worse.

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 20:19:40

I've hacked into the hive control and turned it on. Should be nice and toasty!

AlieOxon Sat 25-Jan-14 20:15:19

AlieOxon Sat 25-Jan-14 20:05:07

I am bringing the tattie mash and neeps, which everyone else is ignoring!

tiggypiro Sat 25-Jan-14 19:59:03

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 19:47:04

You are joking!
Well, I've me tartan sash tied round the middle of me cutty sark.
I've loaded the magic carpet with whisky jellies and doggy (doped) choc drops for any errant corgis.
I'm wrapping myself up warm, and off we go!
See you there folks!

Nonu Sat 25-Jan-14 19:42:12

Charley you will be pleased to know , fingers crossed , I ^ THINK^ I am finally on the mend , mind you I had a modest win at Cheltenham this afternoon, so that always bucks a gal up .
So you won"t be able to take a little of the whisky I sent along , perhaps they will save you a drop !!

I don't drink. I'm just going to eat loads of whisky jellies!Brendaw cauldron is fine. How long depends on the size. Basically until it's hot all the way through.

Charleygirl Sat 25-Jan-14 19:20:24

nonu and I will die quietly in our respective homes, nursing our colds.

Enjoy yourselves and please do not drink too much- you have to get home again in one piece and not fall off your broomsticks.

glammanana Sat 25-Jan-14 18:44:43

Just found out I will have to abandon my plans for Castle Mey Celebrations we've been invited for a night of frivolity at our local pub to celebrate with some friends from Scotland who rang earlier, everyone enjoy your night and make sure you set your sat-nav's in the right direction for a safe return home enjoy yourselves wine

Brendawymms Sat 25-Jan-14 18:44:03

How long should I boil the Haggis for and can I bring it in the cauldron to save pots.

Gagagran Sat 25-Jan-14 18:14:04

The Ellan Vannin sank on 3 December 1909 sailing from Ramsey in the Isle of Man (where some of my family live) to Liverpool.

Just wanted to invite anyone needing a re-fuelling stop on the way back from your party to call in at soop's - there will be gentler celebrations of Burns Night afoot there but plenty of virtual grub, grog and good company. I am down for a session on the joanna - specially polished and made ready by soop and MacSporran so hopefully it should be a nice evening. See some of you there? Don't scare Rory though! grin

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 17:54:39

It's ok, it's after 3dec. Didn't the Ellen Vannen sink on that date? It's actually my birthday as well.

Meet at about 8 ok for all?

AlieOxon Sat 25-Jan-14 14:33:57

Haven't met cranachan, but it sounds scrumptious!

McGonagall I know, having lived in Dundee - but I'm not going via the Tay Bridge tonight...even the new one is old!

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 14:13:40

There's Nowt worn under the kilt! It's all in perfect working order!

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 14:12:43

Ocado have just delivered my oats, cream, raspberries laphroig, and honey I've already got in so I'll start making the cranachan!

newist Sat 25-Jan-14 14:12:17

The wind and intermittent snow is so awful here that my internet keeps coming and going, I might not get over the Minch. You all may need very warm knickers whilst sitting on broomsticks grin

Galen Sat 25-Jan-14 14:09:36

There was also the incomparable, sublime immortal McGonagall
